Is anyone aware of a meeting for new moms in the Camp Hill, PA area? (I am a Christian so church related would be great, but any new mom groups would be also great)

What can I do next?

Hi C.,

Our church has a moms group called WE CARE. It is every Tuesday morning I believe from 9:30-11:30. It is held at RedLand Valley Church. If you would like more info let me know and I will give you the infor of girl who runs it.

Have you tried a MOPS group (mothers of preschoolers)? We used to live on the west shore and attended West Shore Evangelical Free church. They had a MOPS group that met there, but I'd imagine that Christian Life Assembly in Camp Hill does too or Christ Community. MOPS is a Christian program that is great. You can probably find more info on the web.

How old is your little one? If under 2, Pinnacle Health runs the New Mom Network at the Camp Hill Giant and each group meets weekly. One group is for babies birth to 9 months and the other is for 9 months to 2 years. I started going when my daughter was 6 weeks olds and went faithfully until she turned about 9 months (they didn't have the older baby group then). At that point those of us with same age babies (born within a month or 2 of each other) started our own group meeting in our homes and in the community. The oldest is our group turns 2 this weekend, so we have made some great friendships. These moms and babies have become our greatest support system and true friends.

www.momsclub.org and then click the link at the bottom to find a local chapter. The membership dues are $30 a year, I think. I joined this past summer and it was probably the best $30 I've spent with regards to my kids. Also, you can usually attend one or two activities as a guest to "check it out". Be aware though, that it is NOT a Christian organization and that may be something to consider. For me, it wasn't a deterrent mainly b/c they are not anti-Christian, so much as they are "open to everyone". Thankfully, I've not encountered any major problems at this point. Also, depending on how far you're willing to travel, I'd love for your to visit our church. We go to Bible Baptist on Susquehanna Trail in York (just off Exit 28 from I-83). When we first started attending, we travel about 40-50 minutes. Thankfully, we've since moved closer, and it now only takes us about 10-15 minutes. I'll be praying for you.

I live in Mechanicsburg and I know my church (West Shore Evangelical Free Church) has a MOPS (mothers of pre-schoolers) group. They meet once a week. I no longer attend as my kids are 8 and 11 but it's a way to meet other folks.
