I am about 2 1/2 months pregnant and have not been to the doctor yet. I have signed up for medicaid and it is taking entirely too long. I am getting worried now and need to get to the doctor. I wanted to deliver in grapevine at baylor hospital and needed to find a doctor around there that took medicaid. I have looked and looked and cannot find one. I was also needing to find a doctor that would let me pay out of pocket for the first visit until i get my medicaid in. Please help me!!! Thank you so much, A.

What can I do next?

there is a wonderful pregnancy crisis center in Grapevine off of 114 and northwest hwy, they may be able to help you find Dr's and other resources to help you in your situation, (they are NOT an abortion clinic) they are there to help guide those who need assistance. best of luck

Try Dr. Edward Clarke. He use to have a office in Colleyville by the HS but he moved it somewhere else local since I used him to deliver. I delivered at Grapevine Baylor. A few of the Drs at Womens Intergrated Health interned with them before they had their practice and they recommended me to him. He was great.

I am sorry I don't have his number anymore as I have switched back to my original dr.

Hi! I just had a baby on Medicaid. I delivered my first at Baylor and wanted to have this one there as well. BUT, Baylor hospital will not accept Medicaid, so the doctor's that deliver there will not accept it either. I finally chose a doctor that delivers at HEB. The doctor was just ok, but the hospital was AMAZING!!!!! SOOOO much better than my experience at Baylor was, and I thought Baylor was great! HEB has the new "baby friendly" certification...if that is important to you. Anyway, I used Dr. Mark Scroggins. Like I said, he was just ok, but luckily I was able to tell him what I did and didn't want since it was my second pregnancy and new what to expect. Please let me know if you have any questions, the medicaid thing can be so very confusing! Also, they should have put a rush on your medicaid since you are pregnant. I got my card almost immediately!

Medical Center of Arlington accepts Medicaid along with the Doctors that deliver there. Dr. Kimberly Udell is a good doctor.

I think Dr Guy Van Dell in Flower Mound (in Parker Square) delivers at Baylor Grapevine and Lewisville. I know he delivers at Lewisville, I've heard he also delivers at Grapevine. I haven't been to him, but a friend of mine has and loves him! Here's his website http://flowermoundobgyn.com/default.asp

It's hard to not know that everything's okay with your baby while waiting on Medicaid. If you mailed in your application, and haven't heard anything, then go to the office and reapply. I've found that they tend to not get anything mailed to them. It makes it more difficult that they don't answer the phone, and if they do, they don't know how to help you. Your best bet is to go into the office if it's taking more than 4-6 weeks from turning in your application and you still haven't recieved anything back. If you've already had an interview, then call the case worker assigned to you to find out what's taking so long. You pretty much have to be a pain in the rearend to get answers sometimes. I hope you hear something soon!

I know the Baylor hospital has a directory of all the OB/GYN doctors there but I'm just not sure which ones do accept medicaid. From working at an OB/GYN Dr's office years ago I will tell you, not to scare you, it is very important just to call and get in anywhere because some Dr's will not even see you if you are passed 12 weeks. At that point they tend to look at liabilities. So regardless of where you go you just need to make an appointment to see someone before your any further. I dont' know if she accepts Medicaid but Dr. Linda Prentice is a wonderful, very nice Dr. She may have an office at Baylor but I'm not sure. I go to her Bedford office across the street from HEB hospital. Good-luck and I wish you and the baby the best!

Make sure that the hospital you choose to go to accepts Medicaid; this is different than the doctor accepting Medicaid. You will be billed from both the doctor and the hospital, and I've had a few clients run into problems with the doctor accepting Medicaid but the hospital (mainly Baylor Grapevine) not accepting it.
I like Harris Fort Worth and the group of midwives who work there, and I believe they both (hospital and midwives) accept Medicaid.
