Numbness and tingling at the site of an incision is normal enough, because nerves get cut. But swelling, redness and heat are not normal. Infection is a definite possibility. There are good doctors in Mexico – if you don't have one, find one. Soon.

After 6 months you should not be having any pain in the area where you had your c-section. You need to go see a doctor and have them check it out. You probably do have an infection and you will need to take antibiotics to clear it up. If you have any kind of ointment like Neosporin you should put that on the area that is red. That will help a little but it won't clear the whole infection.
Good Luck and God Bless!!

I have had 2 c-sections... and it should not be like that.
Did you have the c-section in the States or in Mexico? Perhaps go back to your Doctor that did the procedure.... after any c-section there is usually a follow-up exam...

Do you have any medical insurance or Doctor in Mexico?
Can you ask anyone you know... friends or relatives that can direct you to an OB/GYN?
Or can you fly to the States to see a Doctor???

Infection, if it is that... is not good. Or if the scar/healing has not healed properly etc. , whether internally or externally. You would not be able to see the internal condition of your c-section... which is what a Doctor needs to assess.

It really does need to be looked at....

all the best,
Susan

Go to the doctor now. It should not be swollen, red, warm, etc..... I have had three c-sections. Two of them became infected and took four months each, with a home nurse visiting daily to repair. The third operation finally healed well and very quickly. Within a week I had practically forgotten that I had recently had a major surgery there.

Go to a hospital now!

Get medical treatment immediately!!!! This could be very dangerous, and from my own personal experience, I know it is very painful.

I had that same thing. My doctor was able to prescribe and antibiotic and it went away fairly quickly..... like within days I felt better.

I would see a doctor. I had 3 c-sections and while I didn't feel "normal" until 3 months, I didn't hurt like you are describing either.

I had the same symptoms (much sooner than 6 months) and it was an infection. They gave me Augmentin (antibiotic) and it healed. I think you need to find a doctor. My sister got hurt when she was in Mexico and she thought the doctor was great and very knowledgeable. I definitely wouldn't put it off any longer.

It could be a regular infection, in which case the proper anti-biotics will help (some antibiotics are better for certain things; I don't know what would be best for this). However, I tend to get yeast infections in my c-section scar area, because the skin flops over it. This especially happens with moisture and heat (like in the summer). You can try some over-the-counter yeast medicine (just cream you rub on it); however, I do better with the prescription version of it.

Seeing a doctor would be best. If you can't do that, try to find a knowledgeable pharmacist, especially since you don't need a prescription for meds in Mexico. Unfortunately, if you take anti-biotics and it winds up being a yeast infection, the anti-biotics can make the yeast infection worse. So it's really best if you can get a real diagnosis.

Yeah that does sound a little like something is going on. I mean I have had 2 c-sections now and my last one was 19 months ago and I still don't have feeling....I don't think that ever comes back. And it is still a sensitive area but yours sounds worse then that. I would go to a doc soon. Get it looked at.
