Maternity Clothes to Donate

I have recently given birth to my 3rd precious baby girl and would like to clear my closets of all the maternity clothes I've accumulated. Does anyone know of a chartitable organization where there might be a mom-to-be in need who could use them? I have some casual clothes and some dressier clothes I wore to work and social functions.

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

Wow! What a wealth on information you ladies are. There were so many good suggestions. A mom from this bullet board contacted me who could use the clothes, so they'll be going to her and put to good use. The various suggested organizations sounded great, so I'll be keeping the list for other donations and to pass along to others. Thanks again!

Montgomery COuunty Womens Center - they have a resale shop - think they take donations on Tuesdays and Saturdays. They are always in need of nice women's clothes - they let the shelter redients "shop" for what they need. If you are grateful not to have to be there, that's the time to donate.

Cypress Assistance Ministries has an "Angel's Attic" off of HWY 290 and Huffmiester. It is a resale shop and the money benefits their Ministry. You could probably call them to see if they know of anyone who needs the clothes too. http://www.cypressassistanceministries.com/ Hope this helps!

it would be awesome if you could get it to the women in Iowa who have lost so much. I don't know how you could do that; locally, there is a woman shelter for abused women who have to leave their homes and sometimes aren't able to take anything. I'd start with calling Star of Hope and ask them for names of the shelters for women. Good luck!

Hi J.,

Most Catholic Churches have an organization called the Gabriel Project. This charity gives assistance to unwed pregnant mothers. I would just contact your nearest Catholic Church.

If you live in the Woodlands/Spring area there is Rags to Riches, which helps women and children. They use what they need to help the abused women and children and then they sell the rest to help with other expenses for the women. Also, in the Woodlands, there is Interfaith, which they seem to help everyone and I'm sure they could point you in the right direction.

I always donate to Pregnancy Assistance Center North on I-45 between Rayford/Sawdust and Woodlands Pkwy. They are very nice and will give you a receipt to deduct the donation on your income tax return.

There is a pregnancy donation center, PAC..?, on I45 northbound feeder, just north of Rayford/Sawdust. They assist pregnant and new mom's in need and definitely take donations.
Check with your church or ones in your area. Many take donations of all sorts.

Volunteers of America has residental drug and alcohol treatment centers for women and their children. Several of the women in the Lavender Street facility are currently pregnant. Many come into the program with only what they have on their backs, so clothes are greatly appreciated, ###-###-####
