Married Mother of 3.25 Seeking Pediatric Dr Who Will Respect Me and Remember Us!

I am a proud Mother of a 5yr old Boy, 3yr old Boy, 1 year old Girl, and 1 on the way.

My boys my husband and myself came down with some aweful bug over the weekend, it is causing high fevers, coughs, runny/stuffy noses, headaches, sore throats (mainly from coughing) and body aches... Both of my boys have had Fevers for 2-3 days now, so I called my Peds office to make an appointment and they gave me the brush off!! They told me that our Dr was completely booked and that if I wanted assistance I should take them to the Emergency Room! Now this is not the first time this office has made me mad. I have been going to this office for 3+ years and they have yet to remember who I am or treat me like I am a returning patient, the nursing staff is always rude.. I put up with the staff because I liked our Dr. until our last 2 visits in which he hurt my daughter trying to get a urine sample from her (at the time she was only 7 months old) and this last time where I was pressured by him and his staff to get my kids flu shots (which I found out last week were pointless anyways! They gave out the wrong batch!!)He also went against my request for a full blown blood test for my daughter for Anemia and finger pricked her just to come back and tell me the same thing I told him before he finger pricked her! That she was going to have to go down to the lab and get a real full blown blood test!

When I was growing up my Ped was wonderful! He remembered me, my Mom, my siblings, his staff was always polite, they remembered us! Needless to say I am in search of that for my children, does this exist any more? IF so are the accepting new patients, I don't mind driving, I drive to Placerville every year for my own "female" exams and when I am pregnant with my children.. I know the value of a Great Dr. and would love to find one that will take care of my kids like my OB takes care of me.. And respect my feelings and concerns about my children as well, after all they are my children! I might not have a medical degree but I am an experienced Mom, and I make it a point to educate myself on the ways and happenings of my children and children in thier same age groups..

And referrals are greatly appreciated, we have Blue Shield insurance... Thank you all so much for listening!

I love our pediatrician. We have been with his office for 7 years now. It's River Rock Pediatrics. There are two docs there - Dr. Randal Hepworth and Dr. Marcus (can't think of her first name). They are open into the evenings until 7:00 and on Saturdays. They are in Folsom at Greenback and Madison. Their number is ###-###-####.

I am not sure where you live; however, Dr. Saied and Dr. Pullen in Elk Grove are wonderful. I went to Dr. Saied as a child, my brother did, my niece did and now my son. I used to work for him as well. He doesn't work every day of the week but Dr. Pullen (female) is there and there are also 2 other pediatricians in the office. I wouldn't consider anyone else for my son since he has basically treated my whole family. He does take Blue Sheild as well.

I take my little guy to Dr Matthew Cohan in Carmichael. He's right across the street from Mercy San Juan. He is the only Dr my son has had. He came and met us the morning after Josh was born (while we were in the recovery room). When Josh came down with jaundice the Dr was very proactive and very involved - even when they were running tests in the middle of the night. One time when Josh was an infant he was very sick with a fever - I called the dr's number thinking I would get the exchange - nope - he answered at 11pm on a thurs night. He is very patient - is always willing to answer your questions and his staff is always great. Josh used to be terrified of the Dr but now he tells me he wants to be a Dr like Dr Cohan. His number is ###-###-#### and I am sure they are taking new patients. The best thing is they have a "sick kid" side and a "well kid" side to the office - and the sick kid side has a super cook fish tank! lol

We go to Dr. Kevin Grant at Folsom Lake Pediatrics on Greenback. It's 3 ladies & Dr. Grant. They are all friends and like a little family, just a really great small office that makes you feel like you're home & family. They always get us in quick and just make you feel good about being there.
