Hello,
I am currently pregnant with twin boys and I would like to treat myself for a manicure and pedicure. I live in the Groton, CT and would love any suggestions to where I can go. I have tried a place in town but was not impressed at all. I would prefer not to go to a spa which would cost more...but somewhere that is reasonable, clean, and that they do a good job. Thanks!

J.

So What Happened?

I tired Nail and Spa II in Waterford and it was great! Super clean and they did a great job on my nails. The best part were the massages. Would go back again...so thank you so much for the suggestion!

I will echo someone else in saying you should go to the New Nail Spa or Nail Spa II, both in Waterford (the former is on Boston Post Rd. near Jordan Commons, right behind Dunkin DOnuts, the latter is on the corner across from McDonalds, also off Boston Post Rd). I have a friend who worked at Red Door--they are WAY expensive and its not worth it. For what you'd pay to get a basic manicure there, you can get a premium package pedicure and manicure at Nail Spas. Good luck and congratulations!

Not sure if this has been posted yet but Nail Queen Nail Spa on Rte 184 in Mystic is fantastic. They are a small location run by a Korean/American woman that is very personable. I have never been disapointed there. They are in the new Haley Brook Shopping center (where Dunkin Donuts & the gas station is). I can't seem to find her card with her number but I know they are listed. She is open Tuesday - Saturday.

They do a great job and are always clean. My favorite is the deluxe pedicure (around $40) - they use warm stones to massage your legs and feet, plus they do warm parafin dip your feet and it feels awesome. They really go the extra mile to make you feel great before you leave.

Give them a try. Good luck.

Amy's beauty shop in the Groton shopping plaza by Big Y is supposed to be very good; my sister in law swears by it; I have gone to Nails Spa in Waterford on Rte 1 by Dunkin Donuts and they have great pedicures for $30.00 with a mini massage included. Enjoy and good luck with then new babies!!

I don't personally get manicures/pedicures, but my mother and three aunts all swear by Nail Spa and Nail Spa II. They have locations in New London (possibly Waterford) and East Lyme. Good luck!

Hi J., I live in Gales Ferry. I often go to Red Door Spa at the Mystic Marriot. They also do pregnancy massage, which is just lovely!
Their pedicure prices range from about $40.00. I have always found them to be clean, and friendly.
I like that you go in, put on a comfy robe and get to have a cup of tea in the relaxation room while waiting for your appointment. It's just so relaxing!
I also bring my suit and go for a swim once my nails have dried. It's included with your spa visit.
I can turn a $40.00 pedicure into a full afternoon of relaxation!! No kids allowed.
Have fun,
S.
