We have three cats, one boy & 2 girls. My little boy, he is two, has the worst aim when he uses the litter box! I am constantly finding his urine on the wall or on the floor!! He is worse than my seven year old son! Does anyone have this problem, or is my kitty unusual?? I just told my hubby that we would never get a male cat again!

Get him neutered and get a covered kitty litter box.

Well I hope he's neutered, that could be your problem. Sometimes their picky about the boxes. You may want to try a box with a cover for him. The boxes may be dirty for him. How many boxes do you have? You should have 3 boxes plus one more. He may have a urinary tract infection if he's going outside the box and if it's in other places of the house. Hope this helps. A.

he's spraying.
Is he neutered?
This usually helps.
It best to do it when they are young.
And it will help the tendency for aggressiveness if hot and bothered during mating time... and trying to hump your 2 girls.
I would neuter him.
If not neutered, they become Tom Cats.... big boys who are then still spraying but then want to mate... and they have a real strong LOUD weird mewing when that happens or there may be cat fights. Or he may try and escape outside... if he is in heat and not neutered, just to mate and roam...

And perhaps, get more than 1 litter box. Put in different areas of the room.

good luck,
Susan

First, make sure that he's neutered. If he's in the litterpan, it's not necessarily spraying, as that is typically a marking of his territory. But, your's is not alone. I had a couple of males that used to stand or would start in a squat & finish standing. The result would be urine on my walls. I resorted to one of those dog litter pans which has sides that are much higher. You can also get one that is covered. But, with that one, I had trouble with urine collecting where the 2 sides meet. A little more work to keep clean, but at least it wasn't my walls.

I had the exact opposite problem. The girls could never get it in the box and the boys were neat as a pin. I'm sticking with boys :)

Could be quite a few things.. I had this issue with my cat when my mom stayed with me last summer for 4 months with her girl cat (WORST decision to let her cat stay at my house)...
1. Is he neutered?
2. I was told by my vet that each cat should have there own litter box?
3. Is the litter box constantly cleaned?
4. Does the litter box have a hood? If so, try taking it off. (My cat ALWAYS liked it on and all of a sudden after my moms cat came, I had to buy him a whole new litter box and keep the lid off)
5. Is he marking his territory?
6. Could he have a UTI? (my cat has had 3 and now he has to be on JUST wet food "Prescprition C/D" because it's more water based. You can only get it at the vets office)
7. It's mating season for cats (my vet told me this) and sometimes when cats smell other cats outside they can get territorial over there house. Weird I know..

My cat NEVERRRRRRR had any issues. I've actually gotten a lot of compliments of what a wonderful, friendly, loving cat he is.. BUT when my mom's cat came and went he started marking his territory (because my moms cat peed in my house once and he could smell it so he marked his territory).. It was a ABSOLUTE NIGHTMAREEEEE... He peed 3 times on my leather sectional, once on my area rug and on my runner. I had to literally buy all new furniture (thank gosh I have a VERY understanding husband)... I took him to the vet quite a few different times and after different tests run he has a inflamed urinary tract. That is why he has to be on the prescription food now...Unfortunately because I'm still trying to "trust" him again, when I'm not home he has to go out in the garage (where his litter box, food, water and bed is).. He actually "likes" his own personal space that he can go to when he wants to get away from my son or dog (we have a cat door leading into the garage)....
So just a few suggestions for you....

I have a female cat who pees right out of the litter box. I just got the largest covered litter box I could find, and the problem is gone. (now if I could get my other one to stop pooping right outside the box).

He is probably doing it on purpose, spraying as mentioned already. He is still young enough that if you get him fixed, he will not try to mark his spots.

he may be spraying, but in my experience with an obnoxious spraying male cat, it wasn't "near" the litterbox, it was all over the house. it's a territory thing. this doesn't sound like spraying to me.

we had to get rid of ours btw - fixing him didn't stop the spraying. he was pretty young when we had him fixed, and we waited over a year after his surgery, he still sprayed. GROSS.
