I must say that making your own baby food is such a blast!! I used Martha stewart recipies. I found them on her website. But if you buy fresh produce and steam the vegies save the water from the bottom use your food processor use the water you steamed with or a low sugarorganic juice(must be pasturized)to thin. No spices needed. I froze in ice cube trays

Hi,

I didn't use any particular recipe book. What I did was, use my food processor for everything mostly. I would put peaches, pears, peas, carrots, corn, plums, etc in there. I would do fruit one day, then veggies the next. I would make enough to last a couple of months. Once it was all mushed up, then I would put them into ice cube trays and freeze them. Once frozen put them into freezer bags and label them. I also made sweet potatoes in the oven with a little cinnamin and did the same thing. My daughter loved the food and it was easy to transport/defrost, etc.

Good luck!

First Meals by Annabel Karmel is a simple, step by step guide for making baby food. It also goes through the toddler years with simple recipes, etc. Once you have the basics and some suggestions, it is easy to vary from this or any other book. Have fun!

There is a great book called "Super Baby Food" and it has amazing recipes for infants all the way to school aged kids.

I used the So Fresh Baby Food book listed here for my first, now 21 mos and now for my 6 mo old...

They also sell the trays to freeze in...but I found that regular ice cube trays work just as well. Once frozen, just pop the cubes out and store in a labeled freezer bag. Good luck!

Hi S.,

Great website that I used a log while making purees...got lost of use from it:

www.wholesomebabyfood.com

Also I was given a book on baby's first foods that had lots of recipe's to make puree's and even recipe's for older kids. Got a lot of use out of it...but cannot find the name of it. Sorry, will let you know if I come across it.
