i found one post online (i think it was the mr. clean magic eraser website) where someone used it on carpet to remove tea and pet stains with no problem. i am hoping that means it won't damage my carpet, however, has anyone used it on crayon on the carpet??? my two year old threw this one at me out of nowhere yesterday. i'm going to try the hot iron/paper bag trick first i think. any other suggestions?

What can I do next?

I just wanted to tell you to be super careful with the hot iron and paper bag. My sister tried it with candle wax (don't ask how it got there) and it ruined the carpet the first try. The S. try (again, don't ask why she tried it again) she got it out, but she says you have to do it just right. I've never been brave enough or had need to try it, but I just wanted to warn you to be careful.

I used a magic eraser to get purple crayon out of off white carpet. worked great. I was actually surprised that you could get crayon on carpet from coloring...

OK, I don't have any suggestions for Carrie since I, myself, was just trying to remember what everyone had said about removing crayon. I get to work this AM & here it is!! Seems like you all can read minds sometimes! My 2 1/2 yr old colored with RED crayon on my beige couch this weekend! Guess I'll give the hot iron a try. Thanks!

I don't know about the eraser, but the iron will work for sure.

I've never used a Mr Clean eraser on my carpet- and I don't know anyone who has. But, if you put some paper towels on top of the crayon and then go over the crayon with a hot iron, it comes right out and the wax soaks up into the paper towels. Depending on how thick it is, you may have to do it a couple of times- just repeat it until the paper towels come up clean.

The Iron trick has worked well for me and then resolve to get any remints --but only if you have 'washable' crayons. I have found they are worth the extra expense because they come out of everything. Good luck!

Melaleuca's Sol-U-Mel works wonders. I had an entire load of laundry "ruined" by a red crayon down in the foot of my son's sleeper earlier this year. The sol-u-mel cleaned my dryer and all the clothes. My mom is a distributor if you want to try it.
