I find that if I take my B vitamins before going to bed, I can almost always remember my dreams.

I just googled lucid dreaming & didn't know it meant being aware you are dreaming. I have experienced that occasionally & it is cool! Will be interested to read all the responses.

I taught myself very early. Kept a diary of my dreams, added onto the recurring dreams whenever I had them, and by becoming more aware while I was awake, I found that I was able to control more in the dreams.

I'll make this quick -- Program yourself to do this. Tell yourself during the day and then as you go to sleep that you will be aware and remember your dream. You can even direct your dream by thinking about a question or subject as you're drifting off. Put a book/paper pad and pen next to your bed so you can record as soon as you awake, if you do this, it is a sign or signal to your mind that of your intention. It's all in the intention and decision set firm in your mind. I'll say one more thing, be careful, that is program yourself too for "a safe journey" through sleep, "activate" your guardian angel. There is so much more about dreams, but this is the basics. I use to teach about dreams and interpret.
Good Luck

When I was around 9 my Dad told me to "see my hands" in my dreams and I could control them. By becoming conscious enough in my dreams to see my hands I can sway them and also wake myself on command. To this day, when I'm having a great dream or a lousy one, I look for my hands and I'm there. Its be very theraputic (for me) to explore things, feelings, experiences, etc. through my dreams when it is not always possible or right to in reality.

I never had to teach myself how to dream like this. I've always been able to manipulate events and have the same dream over and over with adjustments. It's not like I pick the dream before I sleep. I just wake up a lot and go back to the same dream.

It's really kind of annoying. I dream constantly and I dream when I'm only just starting to fall asleep so that I am completely aware of what's happening around me, can hear the family and know what time it is, or that I'm waiting for a parent to come to the door etc... But I'll be dreaming at the same time. I even dream if I just shut my eyes while I'm sitting up and I've been known to have very real like dreams when I'm standing and doing dishes but shut my eyes for a bit.

I also dream about things as they are happening. I usually don't get the details just right. It'll be things like I dreamed that Mr. Rogers died. When I got up and looked for the news that day, it was Roy Rogers. I also dreamed that Dianna died the night she was in that car accident. There's been other things that were creepy close or good. I dreamed I won the lottery the week before I did.

I have always wondered if I should or could develop a gift of some sort. But it seems like maybe I could tap into something evil instead of something good.

This happens to me all the time, but I have no tips for how to induce or control it, it just has always been something I could do, usually in the mornings after waking and than returning to sleep.

Working off shifts and having "call" nights, I do this often and actually do not like it. I feel as if I have missed a much needed deeper sleep. I can lay down and do this when on call and get so mad, I can kick myself later, because I feel as if I "missed" a sleeping opportunity. I think when you lay with a lot on your mind or with the attention to "sleep light" (as in I have to to hear my pager); you will be more likely to have Lucid Dreams.
