My daughter is going to lose her health insurance, and my husbands through his company is way to expensive. Does any one know of any place that you can find relatively cheap health insurance for a one year old, that is good and covers well-baby and her shots with only copay.

What can I do next?

Hi Julia :) We had the same issues through my husband's employer. It got completely out of hand to cover the entire family. We are now also using Blue Cross & Blue Shield for myself and the children. After doing a lot of shopping around I found they had the best plans for us. I pay $84.08 a month on each child. It has a $20.00 co-pay with a $500 deductible. They also have dental insurance through their plans. It's working out nicely for us and saving us around $200 a month.

Julia,

I have the same situation with my husbands insurance and it is crazy expensive to go thru my work too, so I have an independent carrier. It is thru Blue Cross Blue Sheild KC, and I have a one year old and 3 year old. My one yo is $81 a month, which is still less then what we were paying thru my hus. work.

We work with a woman from Benefits Resources, and I don't know if it is assocaited with my office or not, but I will give you her number and you can see if she does individual polocies. Otherwise, you can get online bcbskc.com and get a quote. Her name is Tania Glaeser ###-###-#### x 1.

hope this helps!

Hi Julia, I had the same situation with my job. It was affordable to cover my husband, but so much more expensive to cover my 4 yr. old son. My work insurance is thru Blue Cross Blue Shield. After shopping around, they actually had an affordable plan that covered him for about $100 a month.

Good Luck, G.

I would look into MC+ for kids. It is health insurance at little or no cost. Im not sure what the rewquirements are if you are working. I dont work because I have to take care of my son who is on disability and I also go to school. I got coverage for my children for free when I was working a low paying job part time. When I had to quit, they now cover me as well. Mine is also a Blue Cross Blue shield plan, but they have other plans as well. Here is there website http://www.mcplus.org/
