I used it with my first... worked great! It helped immediately and in my situation I needed the help. I only used it for a month because that's all of the chemical I would allow to be in my body just in case it went to my baby's body too. But she's 4 now and doing great!

Several older members of my family/friends reccomended drinking a beer a day to help increase milk production. When I asked my doctor and nurse about it, they said they can not reccomend that much alcohol while breastfeeding, but that the non alcoholic beer can have the same effects. I thought that was better and cheaper than drugs with a lot of possible side effects.

Never did use Reglan, but I did use Domperidone which has less side effects. I took it for several months, and it worked for me. Like previous posters have said, it isn't sold here, but you can order it online. Good luck!

I used fenugreek which worked great! You can get this at any vitamin store and it is cheap. I also nursed on each breast 10 minutes and pumped 15 min. after each feeding. This increased my milk supply within a few days. I hired a lactation consultant that weighed my child and spent 2 hours watching him feed. You need to make sure and find a certified lactation consultant that will actually weigh your child to see how much they drank. She also made me realize all the bad advice everyone had given me to increase my supply.

Reglan can have a lot of undesirable side effects for some women. Even though Domperidone is not regulated here in the US by the FDA , it is used widely in Europe as a galactagogue (milk stimulant) and has very little side effects if any at all. You can mail order it from Canada. It is APPROVED by the American Academy of Pediatrics for breastfeeding moms. just google and you will find plenty of resources.

Our OB recommends against Reglan and for Domperidone, unfortunately only available by order from overseas (not FDA approved). She said the side affects are much lower and the milk supply increase better.

We managed to get milk supply up by taking capsules of Blessed Thistle and Fenugreek. They truly helped us, but I think everyone is different.

Yes, I took it for a week only. The dr said it was safe to take for that long and no longer. It immediately worked and once I was off of it, my supply stayed up. No side effects.

Reglan has a ton of really unfavorable side effects. Pump 3 times a day for 15 mins, drink mothers milk tea, take more milk plus. All of those things combined offer good results. You could contact a LLL leader for support or attend a local meeting. Good luck!

I haven't used any prescription products, but I've had really good results with Breastea. You order it online from Breastea.com. My milk supply went from 1/2 ounce per pumping to over 5 ounces which is great when you are strictly pumping. Whatever you do though, make sure you are breastfeeding or pumping often. Even overnight.
