Loss of Pregnancy Symptoms, Could This Mean miscarriage...again?

I am only 8 weeks pregnant, I was feeling a little nauseous, very tired and my boobs were very very heavy, then just yesterday I woke up and all the symptoms were gone. I had a miscarriage before and remember feeling this way, but thought it was all in my head. I have my first ultra sound next week, but I am going crazy waiting! Has this happened to anyone? Does anyone have any experience or knowledge about this?

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

Dr did an ultra sound and everything is fine so far:) Phew! All the responses were so helpful, and I now vow to not stress about the pregnancy- I even cancelled the first trimester screening! Whatever is going to happen is going to happen. I feel much better- thanks to so many of your comments, thoughts and prayers!

I would call the Dr. they will probably want to see you sooner since you have had a prior miscarriage. Hope it works out well.

I am sorry for this stressful situation. I'd suggest scheduling an earlier appointment with your doctor. Good luck.

Though I am am not in the medical profession, I can share my experience. A close friend, my sister and I all had multiple miscarriages. We also all eventually had successful pregnancies (6 kids in all).

Years after the miscarriages and after kids were born, we discovered we all have a condition thyroid conditions and that miscarriages appear to be more common for this condition.

The knowledge did did not make the fact of the miscarriages any easier, but it was helpful in how we contextualized them.

With my first, I woke up one morning(around 8-10 weeks) with no pregnancy symptoms(and I was sick as a dog before), couple hours later I started bleeding. We rushed to the ER and did the ultrasound .... heartbeat was still there. I have no idea what was going on, a week later symptoms returned and never went away till our son was born.Hope you're ok.

RR - I remember feeling pretty gross at the beginning of my second pregnancy. But if you are concerned, rather than wait for your appointment next week - call your doctor now. Talk with them and see what they say. It will help put you at ease. Praying for a safe pregnancy for you. Blessings, A.

I'm sure you're fine. I remember calling the doc about what you're experiencing myself. She said that one day you may have nausea, tenderness, etc. and the next day you don't. She said it's normal. Best wishes to you! I hope you can begin to feel a little more at peace. :)

If you feel anxious, which is not good for the baby, go to the dr's early anyways. Call them up and explain your experience and that you feel the same again. Tell them yu want to check the baby early and they can. I was 6 weeks with my first and almost miscarried him and they did an internal ultrasound and he was fine and his heart was beating and I tried not to get stressed out and I was off my feet for about two months becuse I was told I needed to rest to save the baby's life and I did. Your stress and anxiety can hurt the baby in the long run too, not jhust at the time you're stressing out. Call the OB and explain the situation and go and have an ultrasound done so you are not questioning and be at peace about it.
Let us know and I'll be praying for you that Jesus will give you His peace either way.

I have never had a miscarriage, but the situation you describe has happened to me. My nausea began just a few days after I confirmed my pregnancy, so at roughly 4 weeks. Then, at 6 weeks, the nausea completely stopped AND I had some spotting. I went to my dr. and she managed to get me an ultrasound THAT DAY. The baby had a heartbeat, which confirmed a viable pregnancy. She also got blood work done on me for a couple of days following to see that my HCG levels were increasing the way that they should. After about a week, the nausea returned full force and persisted until the 20th week of my pregnancy. The spotting lasted nearly 2 weeks. Today, I have a beautiful 14 month old baby girl. Is there anyway that you can approach your dr. to get you your ultrasound right away and also get some blood work over the next few days to check that your levels of HCG are increasing appropriately? My dr. saw my fear when I spoke to her and pulled out all the stops to put my mind at ease a.s.a.p. I hope that someone can do this for you. On a lighter note, in hind-sight, I wish that I could have enjoyed that week that was nausea free instead of worrying the whole time because it was my only reprieve in 5 months of intense nausea. In my experience, the temporary loss of pregancy symptoms (coupled with spotting) did not mean miscarriage.

Hi, I have experienced several miscarraiges. My advice would be to call your doctor. Let them know what's going on and they probably will get you in for that ultrasound pretty quickly. Best wishes- Keep your head up, I know this scary.

I have not had a miscarriage before, however if you are worring about this I would say to call your Dr and go in for an appointment sooner. All the worring you are doing now is effecting your little one now.

I wish you the best of luck,

I had that in one pregnancy. I went from being nauseous and tired to suddenly having a lot of energy around 10 weeks. I also got a migraine, which I don't usually get when I'm pregnant. I went right to the OB and it turns out, we had lost the baby. Don't want to scare you b/c each pregnancy is different and you might just be a lucky person who is feeling ok... but go to the doctor... Good luck.

If your really worried call your dr. I had a miscarriage (6 1/2 weeks)last year but never had all the usual "symptoms"of pregnancy. Go get looked at and prayerfully set your mind at ease. Also some people get out of the "Sick" period quicker than others. 10 to 12 weeks is AVERAGE! Hopefully you are one of the lucky ones that the "ick" stage (my term) leaves sooner rather than later. You will be in my thought and prayers!!! A.

The thing to remember with pregnancy is that there are no set rules.

A change of symptoms could mean something or nothing. But this is coming from a hopefully second time mommy so i have the wisdom of the already been there done that.

My advice? TRUST your body and not necessarily your doctor. I think one thing that nature does for us is heighten our instincts to almost 6th sense proportions.

If you truly in your gut feel something is off, go to the doctor. If you think it's just your body finding its way, then just relax and go with it.

I would call my ob/gyn and explain what is going on and have them check me now. Tell them that this has happened before and you need to know if there is a problem. The stress and worry about whether there is a problem is not good for you or the baby. Good luck. My prayers are with you

CALL your OB. Yell at them until they give you an ultrasound appointment. Explain that you miscarried before.

They should be more than understanding - you need to know if you have just settled in, or what has happened. So does your OB. Peace of mind is a more peaceful pregnancy.

Good Luck, and Congratulations!

When I had a miscarriage - I felt VERY pregnant - every single symptom except vomitting. I felt that way until the day I went in for the D&C and a bit after. When I got pregnant again with my dgtr who is now 2 yrs old - I barely felt pregnant at all and my symptoms came and went.

Definitely call your MD to set your mind at ease. Before I ever saw my MD with the second (viable) pregnancy - i asked for two sets of blood work to be ordered so I knew that my hormone levels were going up properly. They did an ultrasound very quickly also. But call them - you never know what a change in symptoms means - it may mean miscarriage - or it may just mean that today is a day of feeling good (relative considering feeling "good" when we're pregnant makes us worry more!!!) in this pregnancy!!

I had that happen to me with my pregnancy with my son. The symptoms came back - just different. Mine was even more scary since I was bleeding with my son for the first 5 weeks!! Thankfully everthing is fine. if you are worried, stress is not good for the baby, call your doctor & have them to an ultra sound. At 8 weeks they should get a heartbeat (starts at 6 weeks) that should ease your mind. I know it did mine!!

Miscarriage does not mean your hormones change that fast. Infact it takes weeks for your hormones to go to pre pregnancy levels after a miscarriage. Most likely this is not a miscarriage, but call your doctor to move the ultra sound date.

I had two previous miscarriages each around 8 weeks and a successful pregnancy and am now pregnant again (four weeks). I appreciate you concern and your feeling that you need to know now what is going on. For me, researching and trying to find out only made things worse in the second miscarriage. I was so nervous. I still suspect this might have been the reason I miscarried that second time.

With the successful pregnancy, I just relaxed and didn't worry about anything. The first two miscarriages I went to the doctor immediately. With the successful pregnancy, I waited until 9 weeks to go (I had no bleeding or pain or I would have gone earlier). I just let everything roll off my back and if I felt anxious I sat and watched tv or read a magazine. It helps if you have the support of your partner.

For the third pregnancy (successful one) I figured miscarriage or not, I was not in control and my body knew what it was doing. I just needed to stay out of its way. So I tried not to worry about what would happen and just concentrated on being calm each day and took it one day at a time.

Now Anna is 16 months old (today). With any luck she'll have a sibling in 8 months.

Best wishes,

Stacey

Hi.
When I got Pregnant this time I ws scared out of my wits Because of all the problems I had getting pregnant and because of the misscarriges. I started feeling like I was miscarrying again and so I went to the Emergancy room. They were able to do an Ultrasound and see that everything was ok. If you are that worried call your GYN and talk with him/her or go to the ER and ask them to take a quick look and ex[lain all that has happened before!

Good luck hun I hope all works out for you!
