Safeway has really yummy cakes and are cheap, I used to buy costco cakes but you don't get a very good selection there, one size and a few pics. So I have done Safeway for all of my kids parties for the last 3 years, they have a lot of options.
I just checked into Dick's and you asked for inexpensive. Safeway is way cheaper and I stress way Yummy

You could try a grocery store to see what they have and the prices. I know that one of my friends always uses Safeway to get their cakes (they actually taste good too).
Good luck!

You might try Dick's Bakery on the corner of Hamilton Avenue & Meridian. They specialize in burnt almond cakes (best anywhere!), but I'm certain they can do a Pirate Themed cake if you ask for one. Their prices are reasonable.

I just recently went looking around the Los Gatos area and found that Lunardi's had the cake I wanted at a much cheaper price then the other bakeries. I am assuming there is one in your area. Good Luck
