Hi, I am a 34 yr old single mom who has had a partial hysterectomy two yrs ago. I was wondering if any women have experienced any changes in their life due the surgery. I have had some mood changes, sex drive and fatigue. My sex drive has really been the worse problem that I have experienced since the surgery. I had a c section with my second child and a tubal at the same time. I had a D and C in January 04 before I had the hysterectomy in July 04. I was wondering if anyone else has experienced these things and what they did to help overcome them.

What can I do next?

Hi T.

My name is K. and I am 43. I had a hysterectomy in 2000 when I was 37. Prior to that I had my second child in 1990 and had my tubes tied. I had started having major bleeding problems in 1998 and irregular paps. I took me 2 years and numerous biopsies to get to the stage of saying okay to the hysterectomy. Since then my life has never been the same. My sex drive is like a roller coaster. My mood swings are just as bad and I have also started suffering from chronic migraines. I cannot definately tie them into the hysterectomy, but I have a good feeling they started the migraines. My biggest recommendation to you is find yourself a really good nutritional supplement program. I use Chiropractic Blends. http://www.fitinconline.com I take the Reds which have made a big difference in my sex drive. Also in my energy. All the products are great and believe me I have tried a lot of different supplements from many different companies. I don't know if this is helpful, but it is helping me right now. Hope that this is helpful to you.
Let me know if you want to talk more.

Hi! I have not had a hysterectomy and am currently trying to avoid it at all cost for the reasons all of you have mentioned. In my research though I've come across what looks to be a great website and resource. It is http://www.hystersisters.com/. I hope it helps and good luck!

Hi T.. I had a hysterectomy at age 28. Same story as you, started with a c-section baby, a tubal, many d&c's. Then the hysterectomy. The first few years for me were great. My sex life was better then ever, I lost weight and felt wonderful. That was in 1999. Im now 36 and have osteoprosis ( blamed from hormone changes) I have gained 45 pounds ( could be me) and have NO sex drive at all, not even a desire. I am tired all the time. I would reccommed to have a good sit down chat with your doctor as I have mine scheduled. There could be alot going on we dont realize with our chemical balance now being messed up.
