hi everyone.
i'm going to attend school for my masters degree this coming august .and my husband works everyday and won't be home until 6 pm.so i'm trying to find a way to have someone to be helping me with the kids from morning till at least 7 pm.i have a 3 years old babygirl and another 2 years old babygirl.i was thinking of having someone that will not only watch the kids but also teach my girls some pre-k lessons for exampla how to interact with others, sing songs, letters, numbers and many so other preschool learnings.
i don't know what will be the best way to choose: nanny, live in nanny,au pair,or maybe just get someone for some hours per day and put my kids in a preschool. so please help me find a way or what do u think will work better from your experience, because i really want to have time for myself also in order to pass my degree and get lisenced in my major.and please any advices for the most affordable and cheap way at the same time.
thanks

What can I do next?

I am a big fan of putting kids 2 and older in play based pre-school setting. After two they really benefit from having peers to play with and learn from. At this age (2 and 3) social learning is MUCH more important than academics.

I am going back to school next year and hope to enroll my daughter in pre-school in the mornings (she is in daycare now, while I work) and have a sitter or trade with another mom some additional hours in the afternoon.
Good luck!

You might try to find a small in-home daycare. They are generally cheaper than traditional daycare and might be more flexible. Good luck! Good job getting an education! I can't wait until I can get back into school!

It is very expensive to have a nanny. You can contact an agency near you to get an idea of prices. I would look into regular daycare. They are usually open early to late and if you really needed to you could hire a babysitter. Au Pair's need certain guidelines to be followed. Again, you can do a search for agencies nearby.

Nannies are expensive(I was one:)) Au pair does not get paied much during the week, but the initial investment and time that you will have to spend taking them places will not work for you. We are in NC and full time daycares here for kids that age $275/week/each child. I would look for inhome child care. I keep kids in our home and charge $100/week/child.....it might be more in FL but as you can see that is the cheapest way to go.

ooo...au pairs are the most expensive and most hassle. a nanny can cost alot as well, especially if you pay by hour. i think an in home day care like the other lady said is good. but make sure it is state registered. they do educational activities and lots of times have a preschool curriculum.
