Looking for the Best Child Friendly Pumpkin Patch.

I want the total package...a fun, safe environment that has a pumpkin patch, hay rides, fresh foods, etc....basically someplace the kids can have fun and play and we can make a full day of it, but NOT break the bank. Does anyone know where we can go for this?? We've been to a few patches in the past, but most were either really crowded and people were rude to little kids, or they were just a feild with pumpkins and no fun activities for kids. If it exists, I'd like the best of both worlds!! :0)
Thanks all...you've been so helpful in the past! :0)

What can I do next?

We just came back from Sauvie Island (just west of Portland) - and we had a WONDERFUL time!!! Even though we went on a weekday, the place is so big - I cannot imagine that it would get too crowded on the weekend. Anyhow, there is no addmission fee (only $1.00 for both the hay maze and corn maze for each child). They have a large hay pyramid and a few farm animals in a barn. My kids had a blast! But MY favorite part was getting them into the pumpkin cart, walking out into the fields and playing/searching - for both pumpkins and little green frogs! I think we spent a total of $11 for 4 pumpkins, a few ears of corn - and a FULL DAY OF FUN!!!

I have a couple of recommendations:

Lee Farms in Tualatin - very kid friendly with fun activities and interaction with farm animals, etc. My daughter was 3 last year when we went and she had a lot of fun. Pretty inexpensive the hayride and pny ride extra $ but I can't remember the cost. Here is their website:

The new Pumpkin Patch we wanted to try this year (still might but we are debating to try a new one or go back to Lee Farms) is "The Pumpkin Patch" on Sauvie Island. They have a corn maize, a cow train, a pumpkin slinger, and more - it sounds kid friendly just haven't experienced it first hand - and I am not sure of the cost.

Here is their website:

Good luck in your search and have a Happy Halloween.

"The Pumpkin Patch" on Sauvie Island. We have been going there for the past few years, and my kiddos love it. We even go in the summer to do "you pick" strawberries, raspberries, and blueberries.

I almost don't want to share this, BUT Liepold Farm in Boring is the best pumpkin patch that I have found. It is never crowded, very reasonably priced and lots of activities from corn and hay mazes to face painting and snack shack. We spend a good 3 hrs there every year. It is a little smaller, but you feel like a part of a family. Last year we tried Sauvie Island, and it was too crowded and way too expensive. I am going back to Liepold this year.

Fir Point! I went there as a child and I am so excited to take my almost two year old son there this year. They have a petting zoo with chickens, rabbits, and goats. They have a corn maze, and tractor drawn hay rides, they have a trail you can walk, and a log cabin filled with hazel nuts for jumping in. Plus the food they serve is very cheap and just delicious. It will be crowded, but not too horrible since it is in Canby.

Hi T.!

I love Fir Point Farms....I think the actual location is in Aurora, but I consider that Canby. Their website is www.firpointfarms.com. We were just there last Saturday and I can't believe that we spent 3 1/2 hours there! Many activities for the kids! You need to buy tickets, but I think they are only 50 cents per ticket. Their food is good...and for a treat you need to try their apple cider donuts. Good luck!

"Corn Maze in The City" is 6.5 acres (over 283,000 square feet!) of confusing corn maze. The corn is double planted so you CANNOT see through the 15" thick corn maze walls!!! It's freaky. We look forward to your confusion and you WILL get lost! Please Visit our website for additional Corn Maze details and pictures... http://www.faziofarms.com/

We offer pony rides, an amazing corn maze, face painting, food booths, 22' Bouncy Slide, tractor hay rides and pumpkin painting. Visit "HayLand", our covered and out of the inevitable rain facility, for a parent's break, hay bale maze, and hay bale pyramid.

We are open Thursday through Sunday.
Fazio Farms corn maze is located at:
8433 NE 13th Avenue, Portland, OR

I always loved Sauvies Island as a child and now they have a fun corn maize.. super fun for kids and adults!! :)
good luck

Hi, I think most of the pumpkin patches are way crowded on the weekends. If you can do a mid-week afternoon it is a lot of fun. Last year (when my kids were 3 and 1)we went to a pumpkin patch in North Plains (sorry to say I can't remember the name of it, but check Portland Live...). It has a little lake, so you take a boat ride over to the pumpkin patch. They have wheelbarrows for you to use in the patch and there was a little hay maze perfect for the little ones. Then you take a train ride back to the barn. THere was also a little animal petting area. Hope that helps!

Fir Point Farms in Canby is under new management this year. They seem to have better customer service. I know we will give them a shot this year. :) B.
