Hi i have 13 days till my due date and im just so run down i relax all the time so all i ever want to do is get out and do stuff anything to get out of the house but no matter if im sitting standing or laying down im in constant pain. my stomach is constantly hard like a contraction but it just doesnt let up. and my pelvic bone feels like its broken. i have a 3yr old boy who doesnt understand why mommy is always cranky...and in pain. Also being so close to my due date do you think that maybe that they can set a date for me to be induced because i live 45mins away from the hospital i will be delivering at and to get there i have to go through the mountains and i really dont want to be stuck on the summit if i do go into labor naturally. i guess im just looking for someone to tell me its gonna be ok and and the pain will go away cause as it stands now i have to wonder.

What can I do next?

I have been to ob's all over the country. Some are very relaxed and willing to work with a Mothers situation and some are not. Induction is something you need to talk to her/him about.
The pain will go away!! You're going to be ok and it is all worth it in the end. You get a BABY! A baby. What's better than a baby? And I bet your son understands more than you think. Hopefully you are doing things with him that are comfortable for you and satisfying Mommy and me time for him.....reading books, playing board games etc. Enjoy the one on one time with him now because soon you will be divided, and not equally so. Good Luck!!

As soon as that baby is born you will slowly forget all of this! I had a horrible pregnancy, and now I have a beautiful 6 month old girl and it was all worth it! I thought I was going to die near the end of my pregnancy, so my heart goes out to you! My only advice is for you to remember that it is almost over..(which I am sure you have heard a thousand times) and for you to be sure to voice your concerns LOUD AND CLEAR to your doctor! If you are this close to your due date and in this much pain, I see no reason why they cannot induce you. Good luck. -L.

Wow! you sound like you are just miserable! I HATED being pregnant! I would always complain about how i felt and I just wanted to get it over with! But once you have this baby you will be so happy that all the pain you are experiencing now will be a distant memory. It's crazy how that works! :) Just wanted to say hang in there...and I also have heard that if you are induced the pain of labor is much worse so try to stick with it until nature takes it's coarse! Gook luck!

If you are having serious pains, you need to talk to your Doctor to make sure the baby is moving into the birth canal alright. Some Doctors will schedule a date for you to be induced as well. No matter what, talk to your Doctor about both. I wish you the best of luck, and hope that you will be holding your new bundle of joy in your arms soon!

Moderate discomfort is normal during pregnancy, but severe pain is NOT normal. Your doctor should be notified. Inductions are not without risks, I've known women to have serial amniocentesis to check for baby's lung function and most are not good enough until 39 weeks (which in textbooks is considered full term). The pain should be a concern, but you need to discuss fully the risks/benefits of an induced labor before going ahead with one simply for your convenience.

i agree with a few posts.. some dr's are crazy about not inducing and others are more easy going about it.
with my son, i was scheduled to be induced a week before my due date only because i wanted to make sure my dr was working and not some other dr just on call.. and i was done and ready. poke me with a fork! haha.. but my son came a few days after making the appt to be induced the following week. so we didn't make it.
but being so far away would worry me as well. i would for sure talk to your dr, see where he/she stands on the whole deal.
and with your pain, i would be expressing your concerns, forcfully(might be too harsh of a word but i can't seem to find the word i'm looking for),, i mean, just make sure they hear you. sometimes they just blow off first time moms and dont' take what you are saying serouisly. my dr's were awesome, but i heard this a lot from other moms.
good luck , the pain will go away and i hope it's nothing serious.

I would Call your doctor. You shouldn't be in so much pain, is there any way your due date could have been off? Just call your doctor and see what they say. I know my OB says to call if I'm having severe pain. Maybe your having a big baby.
good luck and congradulations.
