I live in North Andover, I am looking for exercise groups, walking groups, play dates and/or any activities to get myself and my son out it the nice weather.

My son is 1 month old and I am 24 yrs old. We are looking for groups or any other moms that maybe home during the day and want to get outside.

What can I do next?

Hey D.!

Welcome to North Andover! You should check out "The Mother's Connection" I think it is for Mom's all through the Merrimack Valley and they try to help organize playgroups. I don't do much with them as I work, but they have a lot of great activities and ways to meet other Mom's. I think they also have a newsletter. Look them up online. Good luck!

Hi! I am also living in the Merrimack Valley (Haverhill). I am a member at the YMCA in Andover/North Andover. It is a great place to go (once the baby is 6 weeks old), they provide free childcare while you work out and connect with other stay at home moms. You should also look at joining the Mother Connection which is a local mothers organization based out of Andover. You can joind playgroups with other mothers with kids in your baby's age range and get a monthly newsletter letting you know about local activities for the month and great articles. (My kids are 4 1/2, 3 1/2 and 10 months old...so you would be linked with more appropriate age levels.)

Good luck!! There is lots of support out there for you!

Hi D.

I just saw your posting about classes for your son.
I thought I'd give you some info on my business, BABYSTEPS Early Childhood Movement Center.

We are located in North Andover, 100 Sutton Street and have a lot of classes to offer you and your son that include dance, music, gym, storytime and athletic classes. We also have Playgroup & Parents' Group that meet each day.

We have a new class starting in September, Mamma Mambo, a high energy dance and workout class targeted toward you but taken by both you and your son (who will hopefully be napping by the time its over). The best part about our whole Babysteps program is that it is drop-in so you aren't stuck with a specific day and time once you sign up. You can come and go as you please for $10 a day (2 hours of classes) or $50/ month for unlimited classes (We are open 5 days/ week).

We are open Tues-Sat 9-12pm and our fall session begins Saturday September 6th
(Open House Mon-Fri, August 4-22nd 9-12pm). Please call us ###-###-#### or visit our website for more info www.nancychippendalesdancestudios.com and then click Babysteps under programs.

Look forward to hearing from you and hopefully meeting you and your little boy soon!

Hi D.

Becoming a SAHM can be a big adjustment. It is important to get yourself and the baby into a schedule and not to find yourselves in the house all the time. I found it very difficult at first. Having one child does not keep you as busy as having multiple children.

The YMCA is a great place to start. They have child care and all kinds of programs. It is important to just get out there even if you dont find a playgroup. Go take a walk at the park sit and chat with some Moms. It is funny I find that most Moms at the park are more than willing to chat, I think we all do this. I even sometimes just take a walk at the mall.

Best of Luck, Let me know if you find anything good.
K.
