Looking for Some Birthday Ideas, Help Please!

I live in the Arlington, TX area but am needing some ideas on where to have my childrens birthday party. My daughter will be turning 5 and my son 3. Because their birthdays are SO close together, we are celebrating their Birthdays together at the same time. My son is not a fan of bounce houses. The past 4 years we have been having parties at home but it is just so stressful so we are looking to have a day out where the kids can have a fantastic birthday party. Any ideas, locations, venues, would be very helpful.

What can I do next?

I am not familiar with the area, so I cannot give you specific ideas, but what about a bowling party? I took my niece to one for a 5 year olf and the kids LOVED it. They even had cupcakes with chocolate frosting and 3 dots piped on for finger holes (instant bowling ball cakes for everyone!).

I just heard of this, and I'm doing it next year for my son's birthday! We're already booked this year. You can go to Home Depot and let them know you want to have a party there. They will let you set up in the special classes room and select a project for the kids to do -build a toolbox, birdhouse -that sort of thing. The woman I talked to said everyone LOVED it -and it's really cool and different! The kids also have a great treat to take home!

We're doing a pool party at the YMCA this year for my oldest. He wanted that -and they're lots of fun if you have one nearby. We're members, but ours lets non-members rent it too for pool parties.

Rent out a park pavillion? Hire a clown to do face-painting & balloon animals (maybe a circus-theme party)?

The skatium in Arlington does relatively inexpensive birthday parties, and my kids always have fun there. Your kids are a bit young for skating though.

They are the perfect age for a Build-a-Bear party. Chuck-e-cheese is always a hit with that age group.

I don't know about your area, but in ours the pet stores do birthday parties! My SD went to 2 parties at pet stores and she loved them. They got to play with the pets and learn about them. Then they had cake and pizza in the back room. It's good for the pet store and I'm sure the pets enjoy getting played with!

You have a nice nature center near you. Maybe you could have it there? Paradise Pond in Grapevine is awesome! I love the Home Depot suggestion!

Well, you can go Ice Skating at the Parks.
They have the bounce house place right next to it. I know, your son is not a fan, but they also have basketball and bouncy basketball. You buy a ounch ard for $40 and you can get like 20 people in for that!!
Lego Land in Grapevine. Awesome but crazy expensive.
Theres a dollar movie in Irving that shows new 3d movies for $3.50
You can rent the swimming pool at the YMCA on Cooper - its like $40.

ASI Gymnastics...TONS of fun for the kiddos and not much work for you!! Just have to bring your own cake and food (if you're having food).

Also Arlington Skatium is good...they even have a "private" rink you can rent which might be better since your kiddos are pretty young.

Good luck to you and happy birthday to your sweetie pies!!

Children's museums are good, too, if you have one near you. I've also been to one where the hosts rented the pool at a small motel

Not sure how close this would be to you, but there is an amazing children's theater in Hurst called Artie's Playhouse. They are really kid friendly, the shows are wonderful and only last about an hour. We take our 5yr old daughter and 3yr old son to every show and they love it! I know they do birthdays too. http://www.artisanct.com/arties-playhouse/2012-arties/ We also had a cookie decorating party at Celebrity bakery for our daughter's 3rd, it was easy and not too expensive you might check with them if you have one close by. I will second the ASI suggestion the kids love, love, love parties there. Have fun!

A swimming party at the YMCA is always fun! Also, Art Smart and Creative Hands (both in Arlington) do birthday parties.

My first response would have been Pump It Up but since your son doesn't like bounce houses.... What about Chuck E Cheese or McDonald's ? Some of the McD's still do parties. The YMCA on Cooper does parties with their pool and you don't have to be a member. That is alot of fun and they have a lifeguard on duty while the kids are in there. What about doing it at a park ? Reserve if you need to a pavilion at a park with a nice playground. Let the kids have fun and run around. Mansfield has a couple of great parks that are really good for b-day parties.
