Can anyone recommend a preschool in the Sunnyvale or Mountain View area? I need all-day care that doesn't cost more than what I make at work :)

I have my 5 yr old at Little Steps Preschool in Santa Clara. It is wonderful and it is bilingual English/Spanish. It is a home based preschool and the owner is w great teacher that loves kids. They learn so much and it is amazing to see little 2 yr olds pick up the Spanish so quickly. She is very affordable and is open from 8:00am-5:30pm, but if you need earlier drop off she will accomidate. ###-###-#### or littlestepspreschool.com

It is not quite in your area but I strongly recommend you look at The Children's Center in San Lorenzo Valley (Ben Lomand). Tuition is based on your income level. We are open 8am-6pm with earlier drop-offs arranged specially by the office (7:30 the earliest).

But if you need Mountain View then Google just opened a state of the art facility. I am not sure if it is open to the public or if it is for staff only. I have never been there.

Good luck! Please write me back if you have any questions!

HI,

I am very happy with Community Preschool in Sunnyvale ( 408- ###-###-####). It is at the corner of Remington and Bernardo and has a great atmosphere ( My three year old loves it there!), very nice teachers and a great mix of education time and free play. They have full-time hours and I felt the price was affordable in relationship to other preschools in the area. They also came highly reccomended from two other mothers at my work who had sent their (now teenage) children there.

For additional options you can request a list of preschools by area and hours of care needed at no cost from the 4C's council ###-###-####) or you can look up sites on their website: www.4c.org

Best of luck!

Our son is at the Mission College Child Development Center off Great America parkway and we Love it. They start from 2 months and once you're in the program you can stay until Kindergarten.

You can contract for 8.5 hours a day, includes meals and they don't have to be potty trained.

I would recommend 2 schools in Sunnyvale: Community Preschool on Remington. My oldest daughter went there and loved it! The teachers were great at teaching basic concepts through play and attentive to each child's needs. A really loving school.
Presbyterian Early Learning Center (PELC) on Hollenbeck and Fremont. My youngest daughter is there now and loves it! I didn't send my youngest to Community Preschool because I heard wonderful things about PELC and plus it's right next door to my oldest daughter's school, Resurrection Catholic School.

Good luck!

I recommend Little Acorn School at Cuesta and Miramonte in Mountain View, on the campus of First Presbyterian Church. We sent our second two sons there. There are many long-time teachers who are loving and capable. The children advance from the room for 2s through 3 more levels, learning more and more and each level until they are doing simple reading like cat and mat by the last room. Music is provided by an outside, Orff-trained teacher and included in your tuition; the children also do lots of crafts. The playground was updated about 5 years ago and is quite nice. You can add programs such as gymnastics, swimming (in summer), or Spanish for an additional fee.

I absolutely loved montecito school on grant in los altos/mt view for my son. Im not quite sure how much it would cost for all day care but they have a website. My daughter now goes to penninsula early learning center in sunnyvale on fremont and hollenbeck and so far we are happy with them too. Montecito is for sure my first choice though, they have animals (birds, chickens, iguana, etc) and they have so much outside space, its awesome. that was really great for my super active son. Good luck!
