My son is almost 3 and I suppose that in the Fall we'll need to enroll him in a preschool somewhere. We are in Fort Zumwalt school district and they do not offer preschool so I guess I haveto go to another district or a daycare-preschool type situation. Does anyone have any experince with preschool in my area that woudl recommend a place, also what a fees for preschool? I'm a stay at home Mom and have a 3 year old and 7 month old so this is my first experience with this type of thing. Anything you would like to add will be helpful.

What can I do next?

Learning Place Preschool in O'Fallon, its at the O'Fallon Church of Christ. My son is 3 and will be starting there in the fall. He is my 3rd child to go there. They offer m/w classes or tues/thurs classes. Both choices are from 9:30am to 2pm. We have been very happy there through the years. There is a $45 registration fee and I am not sure what tuition will be next year but last year when my daughter was there it was $130 per month if I remember correctly.

Hi J.!
After trying two other St. Peters/Cottleville preschools we struck gold at Warren Elemnetary(Francis Howell School District). It is an amazaing program with wonderful teachers. We couldn't be happier!! Our twin boys are in their 2nd year there. They go on to kindergarten there at Warren next school year. If I can answer any specific questions, I would be happy to do so.
Good luck!
S.

Mid Rivers Daycare was a great place for my kids. I don't know fees as they are now 9 and 10 but they loved it there and learned a great deal. It is near Weekends Only at Mid Rivers and Mexico

I would highly recommend United Services ###-###-####) at Jungermann and Mexico Road. They have a preschool and day care facility in 2 connected but separate areas in the building. United Services and Francis Howel were the only true Preschools that had young 3 programs, as my daughter didn't turn 3 until after the Aug. 1st cut off. She goes Tuesday and Thursday from 9:00 - 12:00. It is $145.00 a per month. They have at least 3 teachers at all times in the class room and sometimes more. If your child needs any special attention, they have Speech Therepist and Occupational Therepist on staff. They also have a nurse on staff full time. I can't say enough good things about United Services. My daughter loves it their and is going to be able to join the 4 year old program in the fall. They are have very structured activities, with plenty of places to play inside and outide. A few years back they adopted a Power Kidz and nutritional Program. They exercise everyday and eat healthy snacks. They are also nationally accredited. Hope this helps and good Luck. It is a big decision.

Hi J.,

I recomend Francis Howells preschool program. I've had two of my daughters go to the Central School road location and I'm very pleased especially with my 2nd daughter. They have a new program that is teaching them to write etc and it's great. I sent my girls two 1/2 days a week and it's 8 payments of $114.00 for the school year. If you have a child with a learning disability they get to go for free due to state laws and those children also get to ride a school but to and from school.

I have a 3rd daughter and plan on only sending her one year before she enters Kindergarten.... my middle daughter went two years but if she'd been old enough I'd sent her to Kindergarten she was SO ready to go but wasn't old enough so this July she'll go to Kindergarten.

You do not have to put your son in pre-school. In fact, MO law doesn't even require kindergarten! I put my daughter in pre-school when she was 3 and I wish I would have waited until she was 4. I live in O'fallon in the FZ district also, pre-school is one of those things you pay for and it's expensive, I did not find a place under $125.00/mo and at 3 you go twice per week for approx. 3 hours. You could teach your child abc's and 123's at home and save your money. If you need the break, go for it! My daughter went to the Y, many churches offer it as well and they are all basically the same. Good Luck!

Hi J.
There is a preschool at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church and it's an awesome program. Based off of United Services preschool.

The church is located on Mexico Road just East of K Hwy. The phone number is ###-###-####. Not sure what the prices are but I do know alot of families that have gone there with their children and just love it. I do home daycare and I used to have to pick up one of my little ones from there while he was in my care.

Added: Lindsay also suggested Good Shepherd and I forgot to mention that it was "Little Lambs" Glad that you like it there Lindsay :)
