We sent our son to the First Baptist Christian Academy, he left there from Pre-K reading, I was very impressed with the program that they presented. Now I have to say that he already knew his letters, colors, numbers and how to write his name, but by the end of the session he was reading short two to three word sentences and now he is reading level 2 readers (with very little help from me) by himself. We are a book worm family so I love that he gets to now read the nighttime stories to both myself and our youngest daughter.
I don't know where you are located, but they are off Hwy 70 at Hwy K, across the street from where the Kmart and Shop and Save are.

The daycare at St. Peter Church on Second Street in St. Charles is awesome. My kids both were there and they learned so much and were so prepared for Kindergarten. The staff is terrific. Miss Pat (director) and Miss Debbie (asst. director) are real gems and have been with the daycare since it opened. I believe their hours are still 6 to 6. Their number is ###-###-####.

I highly recommend Curiosity Corner, which used to be in Church of the Shepherd on McClay. They had been in that location for something like 20 years and the building was sold so they needed to find a new location to keep the preschool going. I believe the new location is at New Hope Pres. church on Kisker. My son went for 2 years and LOVED it. If I had other children, I would be sending them there. When I was looking for a preschool for him, he was very shy in new situations, often cried or clinged to me, but there he walked right in and started playing with no issues. I really think he could feel how laid back everyone was!I can't say enough how comfortable I was to have him there and he really learned so much. The teachers and director are loving and laid back and so great. This is their first year in the new facility, so I'm sure there will be some growing pains, but I believe the teachers will make everything seamless. Please consider them, and if you need more info I would be happy to get you some.
Good luck,
C.

I second the suggestion of St. Peter School on second street. My daughter currently goes there & has been happy to go since she turned 2yrs old. She was in a day care previous to this one & just hated it every time I dropped her off. Now I find her looking forward to playing with her friends & she's learning so much from the group of teachers there. They even helped with the potty training. It's just been wonderful.

I've been taking my son to Kindercare. He is 3 and is in an inbetween room, not actually their Preschool room yet, but I love it and so does he. I take him there a few 1/2 days a week. Once the school year starts he is on a waiting list for several area churches for their Preschool programs (b/c of the $ in would cost to send my son full days or anymore than I already do to Kindercare vs. Church Preschool - $76/wk vs. $130/mo) but I still plan to send him to Kindercare like I am now b.c I just really like the program for him and he enjoys it.
