I am looking for a fairly cheap but very helpful preschool for my daughter to attend in August. We have only lived here for about a year and not sure of which one are good, any advice would be great!

What can I do next?

highly recommend private school: Lake Country Christian School (near Eagle Mountain Lake, Saginaw area) for academics, fine arts, etc, great place to "plug-in" in the beginning and continue through school.

They are wonderful. My daughter has been going here since she was 10 months old.

Good Luck

My son went to Sunshine Playhouse on Longhorn Dr. It was pretty inexpensive and he did learn a lot. They have a pre-k program that prepares them for school.

I have worked with preschools in that area as an advisor. Wee School at First Baptist Church in Saginaw, Lake Country Christian School and Lighthouse Christian School, both off Boat Club Road, all have excellent programs. Just depends what schedule and price you are looking for.

J.,
I live in Saginaw. My husband and I are both educators. When we moved here we started our hunt for the perfect preschool nearby. There isn't one. They have several "Mothers Day Out" programs and several decent Day Care Centers but we wanted a traditional pre-school. We started our search close to home and visited every single school until we ended up at Discovery School in North Richland Hills at Smithfield United Methodist Church. It is a WONDERFUL preschool and my daughter could not have been more ready for Kinder. It is run with the "High Scope" philosphy which means the children are exposed to hands-on experiences with people, materials, events, and ideas. Each class is fairly small and there is two teachers in each classroom.

It is not around the corner but worth it. If I could move it closer I would. We visited 9 preschools before we decided on this one.
