I have little boy who will be two at the end of the month and a 2 month old baby girl. My son is very social and has become very stir-crazy since the new baby arrived. He needs some interaction with other kids his age outside of the house. I am looking for a preschool (NOT a daycare) in the Gilbert/Chandler area that he could go to a couple days a week for a couple hours a day. I know of many great preschools in the area but am having trouble finding one that takes 2 year olds. Please help!!!!

What can I do next?

My Moms club has done a discussion about this at one of our meetings and most send their kids to either Care Bear Preschool, www.carebearpreschool.com or Sunrise Preschool. Both are good because they have a low student/teacher ratio and they actually teach them things. The one I sent my daughter to was Christ Greenfield Lutheran preschool in Gilbert. I LOVED this school. It is good if you are religious because they bring in some bible stuff and we are not religious but I liked it because it was not a lot of religion. They are very good, qualified teachers who are loving and they teach some age appropriate things as well. When looking for a school check the Accrededated website. This means that the school or district has to have an accrededation rating that they have met the guideline requirements for a preschool. There are not that many around!

Hey M. you should try the McQueen Center which is in a neighboorhood between Guadalupe and McQueen Rd. It has preschool and all sorts of other things that kids can do.

I worked for Sunrise Preschools, and they are a pretty good place. (Although they are a little pricey)... they take 6 weeks old thru school-age, full time or part time. If you are interested, they are at Cooper and Warner (just south of Warner on the west side of the road)... If you DO decide to interview them, tell them M. Howell sent ya! :0)

Hi M.~
My kids go to Risen Savior Lutheran School on Alma School and Chandler Heights. They do have a program for 2 years olds a couple days a week. It's a wonderful school and the teachers are awesome! Here is their web site: http://www.risensaviorlutheran.com/school/index.htm
God's blessings to you, K.

The reason pre schools don't take two year old is because they are not old enough for school (Pre or not). Like you said, he needs social interaction, not schooling! Look at some of the daycares and see if they might offer what you want.

But there are lots of reasons preschools are better than daycares, and all of us want the best for our children!
In east mesa/ aj there is Bridges that is great!!! Highly recommend!!

Hi Mandi. I second the recommendations for Risen Savior and Carebear. Although I didn't use them (and regretted it), many of my friends have and were very happy with both schools. It seemed that Carebear was expensive for me, but that's just my opinion. Good Luck!

There is a great daycare that gets your child ready for their preschool at The Childs Place at the Ranches. Its in the San Tan Ranch Housing development-Pecos and Higley in Gilbert.
