I currently have a pediatrician at the east county health clinic and I'm not very fond with it. Even though I my daughter has a set doctor, it doesn't mean we always see the same person. And when something important comes up, they can't get me in for 2-3 weeks. Plus they have such a huge cliental that It's not very personal. I am looking for a smaller clinic. If you have any suggestions it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

What can I do next?

since I don't know the exact pediatrician you are currently seeing, I hope this is helpful because my son's pediatrician is wonderful (in my opinion). They also take care oregon insurance & they are called Calcagno Pediatrics in Gresham. They are located next door to Legacy Mt. Hood Medical Center. Our pediatrician's name is Dr. Frank Calcagno and I highly recommend checking him & the practice out. I hope this helps you out.

I would suggest trying the OHSU SE branch (my pcp is Monique
Pritchard)-they accepted OHP from when I was alreasdy taking my son there and switching from Blue Cross/Shield, so I am not sure the policy for new clients. They are very efficient, you can often get an emergency appt. within a few hours!, some of the doctors are holistic in their approach to medicine, they work hard to make the children ( and parents) feel very comfortable. As for personal, my doc remembers my sons special trick from when he was 2 months old-he is now 20 months! She still laughs about it! oh, they are going through a move...a new bigger facility is being built by Powell....opens in November I believe. The number is ###-###-####...do not think it has changed. Best of Luck!

I take my girls to a wonderful pediatrition on 181st and Division. She really is exceptionally talented and very loving towards the girls! Her name is Dr. Hildegard Schone and her phone number is ###-###-####. We have CareOregon, I'm not sure if they take other forms of OHP. I totally agree with you, I hate the east county clinic. One of the great things about Dr. Schone is I have always been able to bring my girls in at the last minute. Also, if I'm not sure if I should bring them in or not, I call and talk to her office assistant, Libby (a very lovely lady) and tell her the symptoms and Dr. Schone always calls me back and talks with me. I have even called her after hours number on a Saturday and she met me at her office to see my oldest. The only down side is she is not in the office in the mornings. Although, you can usually call and speak with Libby to make an appointment or ask a question. Dr. Schone's nurse, Judy, is also a very wonderful lady. I am quite impressed with the three of them. They make a wonderful team! And they always remember who my girls are!

I highly recommend Mary Lee Baker, MD, at the Broadway Clinic in the Hollywood district. Their office is around 42/NE Broadway. I know that is not in Gresham or SE Porltand and so may be too far. My grandkids have gone there for 6 years and she's the best. The clinic itself is small enough to feel personal but large enough to handle same day appts. And the only time the kids have seen someone other than Dr. BAker has been when she's not been there and it was urgent.

They were on the Oregon Health Plan originally.
