So What Happened?

We finally found a doctor, Kelly ____@____.com was very inviting, we liked the facility, and met the staff. Thankfully, she will be back from her own maternity leave when we are ready to deliver! :=) All of the feedback from other parents and physicians about her was amazing. Thanks everyone for your input.

We have to take our son to the base for insurance reasons, but we started with mid-city pediatrics and LOVED them there. Even now if my son needs to be seen immediatly and our ped. on base doesn't have an opening they send us there. Sometimes I find myself hoping our doctor is full so that they have to send us to midcity.

My only suggestion is to find the one that fits with you. Go to consultations with the pediatrician and find the one you are comfortable with. We use Dr. Kendrick with Pediatric Associates. We chose him mainly because he has been a family friend since I was small, but also because he and the other doctors donate thier time and expertise to the Shriner's Hospital and they work with kids who have varying degrees of serious childhood illnesses. This both impresses me (to give thier time w/out pay) and makes me comfortable that they have worked with illnesses that are unusual and have the understanding of that. We did do the consultation before our final decision, but I really like Dr. Kendrick, he is a good man.

My name is S. and I've lived in Shreveport for about two years. I've been to three different pediatricians since I've been here. My son was six weeks old when I moved here and it was difficult trying to find a pediatrician for him. I now take all three of my kids (10, 2, and 4 months) to Dr. Kelly Pringle at the Highland Clinic. I am VERY rarely there more than an hour for the wait and the appointment. She is GREAT with children and my kids love her! You can look up her credentials and about the clinic at www.highlandclinic.com...I would say that it's really not too early because you want to have time to search and not feel rushed when looking for a pediatrician. From personal experience, take your time!

I use Dr. Barnett at Willis Knighton Pierremont. His number is ###-###-####. I absolutely love this entire group. Everyone has great bedside manners and they really take the time to get to know you personally. I never have to wait very long and they are open on the weekends which is a huge plus! I hope this helps!
