We recently moved into the Falls Church area and are looking for a pediatrician and an OB GYN. I would love any and all recommendations! Thanks!

I loved my OB GYN - Dr. Scott ###-###-####). He's a one-man practice and really spends all the time you need with you. really unusual! But it can mean long wait times - so try to book early morning or late afternoon if you decide to go with him.

We also really like Sleepy Hollow Pediatrics - we've been happy with all of the pediatricians there and I've heard good thing about Northern Virginia Pediatrics.

You probably can find one closer, but...we use Vienna Pediatrics on Maple Ave. in Vienna (not very far from Falls Church, I've lived both in FC and Vienna) and have been pleased. Our main doctor is Dr. Rebecca Sawyer; Dr. Ed Morris is also good and so is Dr. MacAndrew. Like mmost practices, you have to see who's available if there's a need for a same-day appointment but the docs we've seen there were fine. They do have some evening hours and Saturday a.m. and Sunday a.m. hours, plus a "nurses' triage line" you can call to talk with a nurse and determine whether your child needs to be seen right away or not. By the way, I think having things like a triage phone line and weekend hours are very important for both your baby's health and your own peace of mind! Good luck and congrats on the new baby.

Hi M.
Congratulations on your beautiful girl!

My brother and my boss each take their kids to Northern Virginia Pediatric Associates on 107 North Virginia Ave (i think that is the address)
They see Dr. Atiyeh, and I have heard nothing but wonderful things.
Good luck!

Congrats on the birth of your little girl!! We take our daughter to Capital Area Pediatrics, the Watson Salisbury office. Its right off of Washington St (rt. 29), right next to Columbia Baptist Church. They are wonderful and have great hours! All of the docs are female, young and peppy, and are up to date on the latest on babies and kids. Their after hours triage nurses are also very responsive and helpful!

There is an OB/GYN office right across the hallway actually. I don't go to them, so I can't give you a recommendation, but seems pretty convenient.

I also live in Falls Church and I have been very happy with both my OB/GYN and our pediatrician. My OB is Dr. G.G. Hafizi at ###-###-####. She is on Woodburn Rd., off of Gallows, right by Fairfax Hospital - right off the beltway. Our pediatrician is Virginia Pediatric Group at ###-###-####. They are also in the Merrifield area, convenient to the beltway and Route 50. Our preferred doctor, Dr. Fishelberg, is usually booked up several months in advance, but they have lots of good doctors there without the wait, as well.

We go to Sleepy Hollow Pediatrics. So do all the neighbors and friends nearby with kids. They are part of Capital Area Pediatrics. My kids see Dr. Fox but you may try Jasani, Palmer, all the docs are good. The office is a bit old-fashioned looking, but there is a diner and a pharmacy downstairs, so it's very convenient. Get a snack or milkshake while you wait for your prescriptions!

Northern Virginia Pediatrics Associates. We saw Dr. Atiyeh (pronounced Ah-tee-yah). All the docs there are great, it's one of the best practices around. We had to switch docs because of our location and insurance and I still miss them!

Northern Virginia Pediatrics. It's right across the street from the Falls Church library. Dr Barakat is wonderful. We have seen a couple of the other drs in the practice and I have liked them as well.

We use Capital Area Pediatrics/ Watson Salsbury, ###-###-####, 407 N. Washington Street #100. All the doctors there have been wonderful to us. We have been working closely with Dr. Waxman b/c my daughter is underweight, so we are there almost every month. I would really recommend you check this place out. The exam and waiting rooms are clean, clean, clean, and the front desk staff is friendly and helpful. By the way, directly across the hall from this pediatrician office is a brand new OB GYN office -- just completed about 6 months ago. I don't go there, so I can't vouch for it, but since you're looking for that, too, it might be convenient for you. It looks like a nice place. Good luck!

I went to Dr. Scott Forrest and Terry Allen. They are both great. They deliver at Fairfax Hospital which is one of the best in the area. The pediatrician we use is Dr. Leslie Hseih (I think that's how you spell it). She is wonderful with our daughter.
