We just moved to the area and I have a 31/2 year old son and 10 month old son and I am looking for parks and places to meet other mom's with children. Any help you can give would be great. Thanks.

If you're on the NW side, the playground at Parkview North is really nice. Franke Park is also nice.

While the zoo is open it is GREAT! There are several rides, a carosel, lots of places for kids to climb around and wading pools to splash in. Of course, there are also animals to see. :) There is a petting zoo area that my kids really like.

I've met most of the other moms I know at our church, which has tons of kid-oriented programs, too. If you're looking for a church, I'd be happy to give you the info. Several moms from our church also have a play group that I just found out about. I haven't had a chance to get involved with it yet, but I think it meets Thursday mornings.

Hi T.! I'm not sure what side of town you live on, but there is a great park on Aboite Center Rd. There's a great YMCA there, and the park is back behind it. Whenever I go there, there are a lot of mothers there. Also, have you ever joined a MOPS group? They are nationwide and are held at local churches. It's a great way to meet other mothers and make some friends, plus, they have childcare during the meetings, so you also get a break and some time to yourself. The mops group I go to is at Emmanuel Church, the one off of 24W. I really really love it. It's only the 2nd and 4th Tuesday of each month, so it's not too hard to fit in to busy schedules.

I just moved here 10mos ago myself. It took me a while to find places for infant/toddelers. Here are afew suggestions that I have found myself. The Science Central Museum( off of Clinton)is a great place. They have a space for younger kids to play inside. and you can year membership. The Jefferson Pointe mall food court(off of Illinois Rd) has an indoor playground made of safe, soft foamy type products. There is a burger king with indoor playground on corner of maplecrest and stellhorn rd. It seems a lot of moms groups meet there. And the zoo will open up in the next few weeks. I would be willing to meet at one of these places if you would like. I'm still tring to meet people too. feel free to email me at ____@____.com
