Looking for OB/GYN in West Plano Familiar with Very Complex Cases

I've been with Northlake Ob/Gyn for a few years but am looking for another physician after a horrible birth experience where I almost lost my daughter. I now have some complications that they can't seem to figure out. I have a very complicated history -infertility, miscarriages etc. Can anyone who has gone through something similar recommend a great Ob? Thanks.

What can I do next?

I agree with the other poster, Dr. Koster is amazing! She's a perinatologist so her job is dealing with high risk/complicated pregnancies...I saw her with my 1st baby and she was great. She can also refer you to a good OB that she'll work with during your pregnancy.

I've also heard fantastic things about Dr. Arlene Jacobs too for an OB. I actually tried to see her about 4yrs ago but she wasn't accepting new patients at the time so I chose another doctor within the practice. I had a bad experience. You can always try to get in with Dr. Jacobs and if they say she's not taking new patients then try Dr. Diaz. I saw her while I was in the hospital and I liked her. Beware of Dr. Umholtz, though...she has horrible bedside manners and is just not very polite. You won't get warm and fuzzy from her. I had to talk to her once while she was on call and it was a horrible experience...I also have 3 friends who use to see her and they switched doctors b/c they got tired of her lack of being friendly or she was ignoring their concerns. I don't see her being very good with a complicated pregnancy with the lack of patience she shows. I would give Dr. Jacobs and Dr. Koster a try though!!!

Good luck!

I highly recommend Dr Christopher Reigal of Prestonwood OB/GYN. He was awesome. I was very high risk due to losing my first child during delivery. My pg was complicated from the get go. So when we moved to TX I had to find someone who would take my history. He was great. I have a healthy 1.5 yr old. My pregnancy was complicated again and baby arrived at 33wks. Dr. Reigal was on top of things the entire time. I had an ultrasound at every appt! from week 25 on I saw him every week so we could keep a closer eye on me.

His office # is ###-###-####. Located aruond the corner from Presby Plano

Good luck with your search.

I highly recommend Dr. Erin Koster at Presby Plano: erinkostermd.com. She'll work with you in conjunction with another high-risk ob, whom she'll recommend to you, based upon your particular issues. GL!
