I'm trying to figure out where to have my son's birthday party. He will be turning 4 and most of his friends are either 4 or almost 5. We don't want to have the party at our home and are looking for something that hasn't been overdone. Oh, and it will be probably be HOT outside since his birthday is at the end of May. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!!

I have a little boy that will be 3 in May and we are having his birthday party at Pump it up in Grapevine. There is also one in Coppell. If you have not heard of it, it is a bounce house place and the kids LOVE it...all ages.

Here is the link.

How about at a local gymnastics gym, such as Little Gym, Gym Kids, Gymboree, etc? I've been to two this year and they are great! The kids have so much fun on the mats, trampolines, bars, balance beams. Plus, the staff plays games with them. Or - you could consider a skating party or a bowling party.

You should check out Let's Jump (in Keller)or Pump it up (in Grapevine) Those are really fun for kids that age and it is indoor.

There are several things you can do. If you don't mind a little bit of a drive there's a place called the Cowgirl Ranch in Westlake (just off hwy 114) and it's FUN! My son had his 4th birthday there and we had a ball.... invited 12 of his friends, they fed and rode horses, played games, I provided manwiches and baked beans, chips and cake...she provided lemonade and something else...made it totally into a cowboy day - My son's birthday is May 28 so I know what you mean about it being hot!

Another idea is Pump It Up... those are always a big hit... as is The Main Event in Grapevine...

For his 6th birthday we had his party at the Fort Worth Zoo...it was FANTASTIC! It was like $200 and he got to invite a ton of friends, they all got free admission to the zoo for the day...they bring in live animals from 4 different groups -- snake, bird, mammal and amphibian... it was WAY cool... all the kids got a souvenier and I provided pith hats and a waterbottle for a souvenier/party favor. This year he turns 7 and I rented out a climbing gym since that's his favorite thing to do now. :)

Good luck... we as moms ALWAYS make it WAY harder than it has to be!

My son had his birthday party at a place called EveryBody Fits last year. It's in Coppell and he had a blast. His party was Taekwondo themed, but they got to bounce around in the gym there as well. They took care of the cake and everything.

I agree with the others that said Pump it Up in Grapevine! My 2.5yo just attended a party there and had a total blast, as did the older kids.
