My hubby, 2 lil ones, and I moved to Mansfield a little over a year ago, and GUESS WHAT WE JUST FOUND OUT!! I'm pregnant again! Our first 2 were both born at home and I absolutley loved the experience. Since we're new to the area, I have no idea where to begin in looking for a midwife. Any help would be greatly appreciated! We just had our 4th child (2nd at home) with the help of Amy Allred from Family Birth Services in Grand Prairie. I live in Mansfield, too. I used Molly Germash for both of my home births. Love her! She was out of Family Birth Services in Grand Prairie (all the other midwives there seem really nice too), but now has her own birth center in Peaster (near Weatherford). I just had a baby 3 months ago and I used the Gentle Beginnings Birth Center in Hurst off of Harwood and Loop 820. My midwife was S. Jones and we had a home birth. I also used Amy Allred at Family Birth Services in Grand Prairie. I highly recommend her and the birthing center in general because they provide a very supportive environment. You not only get to know your midwife but they take a team approach to your prenatal care, labor and delivery because you are the benefactor of the sisterhood and support they provide each other. I have had 3 home births with Amy and all of them were safe and to my specifications. They were very respectful of my space and cleaned it so well that within in 30 minutes you could not tell that I had just given birth. She is listed on the Texas Midwives Association as well.
looks like we're in the same boat!! We have two little boys who were delivered by our lovely midwife and we miss her terribly. We're going to try and get pregnant next month so I'd love to find someone before hand to talk to. I had a really crazy pregnancy with my last son whose 20 mo's so I need some reassurance! :)
