Hi. I had two horrible experiences with an OB/GYN who delivered both of my children. In one case, I passed out! I have gone to two drs now and both want me on birth control for PCOS but I know that glucaphage is better. However, I've been trying to go natural with no results. I need a GYN on the westside of LA who knows how to treat PCOS. We have two children and really want to have a third. We've been trying for 10 months and I haven't had a period in 2 months but not pregnant. Thanks for your help!

So What Happened?

Thank you for all of your help. I went with Ottavi in SM and really like her. I had an apt and the day before the apt, I found out I am pregnant with our third! We are thrilled because we've been trying for a year! Also, the cysts are all gone! I give God all the glory.

I don't have experience w/ PCOS personally but a very good friend of mine has been on the pill for 10 years, due to PCOS. However, after much thought and research on natural remedies, as well as a strong desire to stop taking the pill, she drastically changed her diet and that alone has regulated her periods and she's off the pill. She swears by a plant-based diet being the cure for many ailments, including women's health and reproduction. She eliminates animal proteins from her diet and has seen extraordinary results. If you'd like to speak to her personally, I'm sure she'd love to share her story and experience. Just let me know and I'll notify her. You can email me and let me know how she can reach you or if you prefer to contact her, I can give you her info...God bless you!

Try Dr. Kim Reyes. We live on the westside, but still go to Burbank to have her. She does not prescribe birth control and is absolutely WONDERFUL!!!!!!! I can't begin to tell you how much we love her! Her number is ###-###-####

The best doctor that I have heard of is Mark Surrey in Beverly Hills (they actually have an office in Santa Monica as well I believe 6 in total). below is their website... but I do believe that another doctor in the office specializes in PCOS (shahin Ghadir).

I highly recommend talking to Dr. Khalil Tabsh, perinatologist and head of obstetrics at UCLA, if possible. He seems to be an expert on every condition, even rare ones, that are related to women's reproductive systmes.

Good luck,
Lynne E

Probably the reason, or at least one of the reasons that Rachel's friend did so well giving up meat is that they are so full of hormones. It is good advise. I would also recommend you consider acupuncture. I have used it for various reasons with great success and have a good friend who suffered terribly from endometriosis and got it cleared up with acupuncture. I am including an article for you to look at. There are many acupuncturists who specialize in fertility problems. Good luck.
