I have recently moved to the area and am looking for a great OBGYN in Puyallup. I would prefer a female, but am open. Any recommendations?

What can I do next?

I went to a great lady at the Good Sam Women's Center. Her name was Debra McCallister. The only problem I had was that she didn't deliver my baby, there are three other doctors in the same office and they take turn being "on-call" and she wasn't "on call" the saturday I gave birth. A male doctor was, which I really didn't want, but he ened up being really nice and I liked him. I think his name was Dr. Majors.

I go to a family practice doctor that is does all ob/gyn things as well. Her name is Nancy Grubb at Sound Family Medicine (pretty close to the south hill mall). I love having a "one stop shop" for my doctor. She delivered our baby and has taken care of him and me for over a year now.

If you are willing to drive down to Tacoma General, I have an OB/GYN that is very worth it! I go to her from Spanaway (almost Graham - 200th St.) She is part of the Tacoma Women's Specialsts in Jackson Hall, across from the hospital. Her name is Dr. Cammarano. She delivered my sister's baby almost 10 years ago and then my babies 5 and 2 1/2 years ago! I love her!! The phone number is ###-###-####. Tacoma General is a great place to deliver a baby! They treat you very well and Marbridge is there if there are any complications. My first baby had to be in the NICU for a week and they were absolutely amazing to him! If you are not needing her for the OB part, she is still a great GYN. She is very gentle and quick! Good luck!

It's a bit of a drive (20 minutes in good traffice), but I recommend the Pearl Place midwifery practice in Tacoma. They are all ARNPs or PACs that do OB/GYN care, Elizabeth Sanford is the MD who runs the practice. They have a fantastic on-site birth center, and also practice at St Joes in Tacoma. I've been seeing them for about 4 years, including my OB care. There are a number of midwives in the practice, but my favorites (mostly because I saw them most frequently, and their involvment in my daughter's birth) are Joan and Kim.

Good luck!

I live in University Place and drive all the way across town to see Dr. Jim Majors at Good Samaritan Women's Center. It is right by Good Sam Hospital. I have reproductive issues and have been through a number of OB/Gyns in the Tacoma area. I was referred to Dr. Majors by my former family practice doc and I have to say he's the best doc I've been to. He was the only one who found the lime sized tumor growing in my uterus. He's very sensitive to my my fertility issues. I too wanted a female doc because of such bad experiences with previous male doctors, but I have him a try and he is now known to my family as Dr. Awesome.

I know he's not a woman but Dr. Michaelson by Good Sam hospital in puyallup is the best around as far as I am concerned. He also deals with high risk pregnancies. Everyone I know go to him. He has a great bedside manner also.

I've heard Dr. Grubb was good as well and as a mom to three little ones, it may be easier for you to have one doctor to go to for both your needs and the needs of your children. I'm seeing Dr. Sam Song who is at the Women's Clinic by Good Sam and she is awesome! Really sweet, genuine and gentle! Good luck!
