I am looking for a place to buy good quality used maternity clothes in or near San Francisco. I am especially interested in "business casual" items I can wear to work.

What can I do next?

There's a small used maternity section at Peekabootique in Noe Valley (Castro @24th, orange awning). It's in the back to the right. I haven't looked carefully though it, since I didn't find it until well after my now-toddler was born. Good luck!

Hey there
I thought Japanese Weekend on Sutter street in downtown was really nice and a place called MOM's world out on Sacramento Street, they had really cute Michael Star t-shirt that didn't even look maternity.. also, and not perhaps what you had in mind, but I was just over at Target and I have to say, their maternity line has come up .. i mean some decent looking stuff, but if that isn't your deal , the other two places def had some cute things.. good luck

What size are you? I have a nice collection of gently used, clean, and excellent condition maternity clothes I was planning on posting on eBay, mostly size L. I don't live in SF, but I do work in SF and can bring in and let you have first pick. Otherwise, eBay was a great source for me to shop for new and used maternity clothes.

If you are a size 8-10 I have some maternity clothes you can have for free. I bought my clothes at Maximum Mama Maternity, which closed down recently. I had my baby 4 months ago so the clothes are pretty new. They are casual, but some of the tops can be worn in the office. I could meet you in SF, if you are interested.

The best place by far for you is Japanese Weekend. They have a great selection and are very flattering- more than anywhere else I discovered. It's in downtown SF on Post or Sutter. Nowhere else compared at all!

Have you tried the Maternity Exchange sales? Google them...they have sales at the sports basement as well as other locations in the bay area. Their website is a little hard to find but if you put San Francisco in the search, it should work...

Maternity Xchange is having their big Birth and Baby Fair at Fort Mason in San Francisco next Saturday, May 18th from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. and will have a lot of clothing available. It is easy to pick up passes from one of their sponsors... that's what I did. Ooh, that just sounded like an ad! Google them to learn more information.

You can check out Maternity Xchange. They are at the Presidio Sports Basement one weekend a month and somewhere on Potrero Hill during other weekends. I am actually just about to send off my maternity clothes to sell over there. I have several nice Gap tops that I wore over pants (khaki colored and black) for work. I also have a few pairs of jeans. Let me know if you'd be interested to take a look, it might save me a trip to Sports Basement. =)

Happy Shopping!

Maternity clothes was a tough one for me! The quality and styles weren't all that great. Try Mimi Maternity in the Petaluma Outlets. The pricing is the same as their retail shops, except they have a few racks in the back with good sale pricing. You do need to pick thru them. Good luck and congratulations on your pregnancy!!

You should check out Maternity Xchange. It is a roving maternity sale, with new and used items. They come to SF at least once a month. I think the website is www.maternityXchange.com. They have a calendar on the website.
