Looking for Friends - Austin,TX

I'll be your friend!! We just moved to Austin in September and I also have no friends or family in the whole state of Texas. I also have a 22-month-old boy - when's your son's b-day? I also have a 3-year-old daughter. I'm totally bored, totally want to get rid of a few pounds I just piled up this winter, and I pretty much only shop at thrift stores!! The BEST Goodwill I've been to so far is the one on N. Lamar. It is so organized and clean and I've never been to one that nice before. I'm also a stay-at-home mom, but I've been looking for full-time work since November. Unfortunately, it seems employers aren't willing to give me a chance since I decided to stay home with my kids for the past 3 1/2 years. I'm not really sure where Lakeway is, but I live near Braker/N.Lamar and I'm willing to go about anywhere in Austin since I really haven't seen too much of the city yet. I know it is challenging to be a stay at home mother. There are many moms groups that meet in south Austin and would not be impossible for you to get to if you came down highway 71.
I can mention a few here. If you are still nursing, La Leche league meets once a month near the Y in Oakhill, or Austin Preschool Moms Club, or the Attachment Parenting group of South Austin. Information about all of these groups can be found on the net.

My name is A. and I too get bored with the same ole thing. I work m-f 8-4 and just moved into the oakhill area, I am a single mom and would like to find a friend to do things with. I have a 4 yr old son but get bored from time to time not knowing anyone to hang out with, I love to hang with my son but sometimes need an adult conversation ya know. I would start with meetup.com, where there are all sorts of groups posted that you can join. Surely in these groups you will make some friends that you can then spend more time with. I am working with some other great ladies on a group that will get together twice a month- once with kids, once mommies only!
