Looking for Excellent Pediatrician in Rowlett/Rockwall Area

I am looking for a fantastic pediatrician for my daughter because I am not satisfied with her current pedi. While her milestone checkups have been fine, she has been sick and we took her there three times in one month and they just shuttle her through and give meds and we are out the door. Finally we took her to Childrens hospital and they did a chest xray and gave breathing treatment and sent us home with a nebulizer which has made a HUGE difference. I want a pedi who I can really trust and really cares about my daughter. Any suggestions?

Dr.Susan smart is mine at Lake Ray Hubbard Pediatrics. I don't know if she is taking new patents though. She is very supportive of my views. I do not vax my kids and I do not give antibiotics(abx) unless absolutley necessary. She always tries to find an alternative before prescribing abx. She supports the ways I choose to handle my kids...all 4...health.

My two boys have been seeing an MD in Rowlett/Rockwall area. His strep tests are negative; however his ASO titer (which shows current strep in the blood) is through the roof. The MD just continues to prescribe antibiotics, not knowing why the blood tests are off. My good friend suggested we see her pediatrician knowing how thorough he would be. I was reluctant at first because this is a Nurse Practitioner; however, my mom (an RN) said that nurse practitioners are sometimes more thorough and willing to spend time with their patients. This is exactly what I found when I took my son to see Frank Zucconi. Frank sat and listened to my EVERY concern. He wasn't afraid to bring out a medical book and do a little research as he listed to other concerns I had, which has turned out to involve the high ASO titer in the blood. I am very pleased with his 'bed side manner’ (talks with the kids, explains everything he is going to do to the child before he touches them, plus he talks with the parents), prompt return of phone calls (himself, not a nurse relaying a message), and the time and effort he puts into research of different, unfamiliar cases!!

S., the challenge with selecting a physician is that each of us have a preconceived ideal in mind. What I think is acceptable practice in a Dr. is not what you would necessarily expect or accept. Having said that we all want the best for our children especially when they are ill and hurting. I am guardian and grandmother to 2 beautiful girls; one now 15 and one 13. I have taken them to Dr. Vincent Iannelli on Lakeview Parkway in Rockwall, for a lengthly time now. His number is ###-###-####-3034. I have yet to be unhappy with him in all the years we have taken the girls to him. Best of wishes and luck finding a pediatrician you will be content in treating your child. It took us a very long time in finding Dr. Iannelli. A.

When my kids were younger I took them to Dr. Andrea Cramer.
She's very good and straight to the point. She is located on Rowlett Rd. just east of 66 on the right. I can not remember the address but she is easy to find.

HI S.,
I have a wonderful pediatrician in Rowlett. He is in the office of Dr.Wieland at Lakepointe Pediatrics. His name is Frank Zucconi. He worked off of Greenville Ave. for years at Woodhill Pediatrics with Dr. Larry Gray. I started taking my girls to him after my second daughter was born. That is almost 9 years now. He transferred over to Rowlett a few years ago to be closer to his home. Which was great for me considering I live in Rockwall. He is a CPNP, not a DR. That sometimes turns moms off, but we absolutely love him! He is very good with the girls and they love him. Their number is ###-###-#### if you would like to try him out.

I am 35 yrs. young with two beautiful daughters, ages 11 and 8.

S.,
I use Dr. Trever Rester. He used to be at Baylor of Rowlett (on Hwy 66), and just moved his practice to a new building in Rockwall/Royse City area. Right off the frontage road of I-30. He is really nice! I had taken my daughter early on to another pedi who w/3 visits didn't catch that she had a heart murmur and he caught it! He also spends as much time as needed with you and he really cares. I hope you find one you like. Here is his number ###-###-####.

We use Dr Jennifer Miller at Baylor Rockwall ###-###-#### . Both of my boys (and I) had pneumonia this year and she xrayed our chests (in her office), gave us nebulizer treatments, etc. She is a mom of twins and understands kids. She lives in this community too. If you cant get in to see her I would reccommend Dr Smithers, same place, she is wonderful too.
