Looking for Double Stroller Recommendation

I have an 18 month old and a newborn. I am looking for a double stroller that will accommodate our Chicco newborn carseat and then will work for both kids without a car seat later. Any suggestions? I can't seem to find one online that would work with the Chicco seat. I would also love if it had one of those stand-on options for our toddler.

Thanks!

I asked the same question several months ago and got a bunch of great responses. There was one stroller in particular that could accommodate a Chicco infant carrier, but it was a bit pricey and you had to buy an extra attachment for it and I never got to see it in person. Let me know if you would like the website and I will forward it to you. I wound up finding a Graco Duo Glider at a Mom-to-Mom sale and have been very happy with it. The car seat doesn't "snap in" like it does with my Chicco stroller, but it fits snuggly enough that I don't worry about it coming loose. My older son sits in the front, and next spring my baby will be able to ride in the back without the car seat.
Good luck!

We have a sit and stand. I bought it at Target about a year ago. It has a converter that attaches to the front seat to hold any carseat. My neighbor has the same stroller and had her chicco car seat attached to it.

We have the sit n stand from onestepahead.com, and it has worked wonderfully. It is big (but all double strollers are), but we really liked it. My kids were 2.5 years apart, so we just bought the standard one, but I believe that there is one that is a double stroller to start, then a sit n stand later. I wish they had one that was a double sit n stand now that my kids are 2 and 4.5! Its hard to get the 2 year old to sit when she could be standing!

Not sure if it will fit your Chicco carseat (my experience hasn't been very good in getting cross brands to work well), but the Graco Quattro Tour Duo is GREAT!! Very easy to maneuver and isn't as large as some of the others out there. Also very well built. We love ours (had for 2 years now) and 2 of our neighbors also have it and love it.

My SIL had one where the 2nd child could stand, or sit and face backwards and she got rid of it in short order. My nephew hated standing and hated sitting backwards. I know a lot of people really like them, but you might want to think about if your child would be OK standing that long or if they are OK with not seeing where they were going. My daughter would hate it - I'm glad we did not get this one.

Hi Jennifer,

My kids are two years apart and I would also recommend the Sit n Stand from One Step Ahead. You can usually get a discount code for at least 10% off on retailmenot.com.

I bought a double stroller that cost twice as much and we always chose the Sit n Stand over the double stroller.

Congratulations on the new baby and good luck!

Check out Chicco's website. I emailed them directly about a double stroller that would accommadate their baby seat. They said they were coming out with a double stroller this December. Hope that helps.

I have an Evenflow- got in from Walmart for less than $100. It accomodates an infant seat in the back seat- you set it inside and strap it in and a toddler sits in front or you can use for 2 toddlers. It's easy to use, inexpensive and folds up easily.

OK...so I was in your situation a year and a half ago. BTW, Chicco kept telling me that their double stroller was coming out...and it still isn't out, so I wouldn't hold your breath for that one. The Bumbleride that someone else suggested is compatible and awesome but was too expensive for my budget. The sit and stand was not an option for me b/c my little boy would be all over the place in a mall, etc. AND we go on a lot of walks so the standing would be a nuisance. There is not a lot of leg room on the sit and stand with the carrier in and the toddler seat. The Graco Quattro does work with the carrier, but I wanted a side by side option. The ones that I found that worked well when I tried in stores were the Peg Perego 60/40 side by side, the Zooper and the Baby Jogger city mini with the car seat attachment. I actually bought the Zooper on craigslist and used it for a few months, then resold it and bought my City Mini which I absolutely LOVE! I do not have the car seat adapter b/c my little one was old enough by that point. The stroller rocks = fits through doors with out issue, turns on a dime, reclines fully for sleeping babies, tons of leg room for my older one. I highly recommend. Advice if you decide to buy it - find a Babies R Us coupons for 15 - 20% off, then take it to Buy Buy Baby in Canton to purchase. You can use competitor coupons, but not the BBB coupon b/c the brand is excluded. I used a Toys R Us coupon, plus I used all of my Buy Buy Baby and Bed, Bath and Beyond coupons to buy some of the accessories. I am actually pregnant with #3, and I think I will strap the carrier in with the current "belly bar" that I have instead of purchasing the big carrier adapter. Not sure if that will work...but I will see! Good luck with your purchase!!!

I have a two month old and a two year old and I love my Bumbleride Indie Twin! And it does work with the Chicco carseat which is what we have. It is a bit pricey but it is so smooth and easy to use. You can get a generic stand-on that will attach to most strollers. There are a few different ones on the market. We purchased our stroller from elephant ears in ann arbor and they were awesome to deal with - even shipping it to me for free! They also sell the stand on attachments. Hope this helps!
