We need somewhere for our dog to stay for about a week. She's a year old and hasn't been spayed yet. Can anyone recommend a reputable, reasonably priced option in the Sterling area? Thanks so much!
Thank you to everyone who responded. My husband checked out one kennel and just couldn't bear to leave the dog there. So he called his sister-in-law and asked if his 12 y.o. niece would like to make money caring for the dog. It was a win-win situation: his niece made $20/day, and the dog had loving care and free run of several acres for the week!
Another option (depending on your dog) - is having a pet sitter come 3 or 4 times a day - but it also really depends on how your dog would handle that for a week - one year may be too young. I work for a pet sitting company, Woofies, (www.woofies.com) and we do this sort of thing all the time.

If you still need a place, try googleing it! That's what I did to find a boarding place for my dog. We found one out in MD (i live in Leesburg) but that might be too far for you. I also looked through the ads in the Yellow Pages and called up a few of them with a list of questions next to the phone.

We take our dog to Seneca Hills Animal Hospital and Resort: http://www.senecahillvet.com/ They're a vet and a dog hotel - we use them for both. We get very anxious about boarding our dog and try to have him stay with friends when we can. When that's not possible, he goes to Seneca Hills. They're very good.
