Looking for Dermatologist Recommendations

I am looking for a dermatologist to remove skin tags. The last one I visited wouldn't even discuss it with me because they are benign and there was no medical reason to remove them. I realize that this procedure is considered "cosmetic" and will not be covered by insurance, so if you've had this done and can ballpark the cost for me I'd really appreciate it. Also, any details about the experience would be welcomed. I would prefer the Plano area, but am open to some traveling for the right doctor.

What can I do next?

I had a few skin tags removed that had showed up with my last pregnancy. Dr. Mary Fleischli is my dermatologist & gave me no problem with having these removed. It was a very simple & painless procedure & you can barely tell where they were located. I don't remember the cost, but do remember it wasn't too expensive. She has offices at Preston & Royal, Las Colinas & off of Gaston near Baylor. Good luck! :)

I use to see a dermatologist in Dallas at Preston Center; Dr Denis Beaudoing, Dermatologist of 8226 Douglas Avenue #540 , Dallas Texas (TX). I absolutely loved him, he would take the tags of my neck area without a blink, and he cleared my acne up so quickly. He was also caring about the moles I was getting around my back and breast area. I highly recommend at least a consultation with him. I could not see him any longer because of my insurance.

Good Luck, D. Godfrey

I just met with Dr. Susan Poliak in Plano through several recommendations from this list. I needed moles checked; but also had numerous skin tags, having carried two sets of twins. My skin tags hurt; it's not just cosmetic. Dr. Poliak was very helpful; none of the growths I had concerns about were cancerous and the visit was covered by insurance. Dr. Poliak and her staff very nicely explained that I can come back any time to have her remove the skin tags, but the cost will come out of my pocket and will not be covered by insurance. She told me that the price usually runs about $150 to $175 - but that was not a quote, and I assume the amount would likely vary depending on how many you have etc. I am giving you this info just to give you an idea, which is what your question stated. Dr. Poliak is in Plano and she was very nice.

My mother in law had her family doctor do it, my husband did as well. It is not a serious procedure by any stretch of the imagination. I would just call my family doctor, he/she should do it and insurance does cover it.
