I'm due June 21st, and will have to go back to work when my son is 7 or 8 weeks old. My husband and I want a loving care provider for our first child. We are very nervous about making such an important decision! We're starting to "tour" some locations now but haven't found anyplace that we've fallen in love with.

My husband and I are expecting our first July 6th. We looked at several "daycares" and decided on Primrose. It's more like a school and costs more than a standard daycare. ($210 per week for an infant). It is worth looking to see if there is one in Carrolton. I suggest going to the school to look at how they do things and if you like the people. They keep it locked for safety reasons so an appointment is necessary.

Yes, the thought of leaving your baby is heartwrenching. When we looked at daycares, we also liked Primrose School (we were looking at the Denton location). However, if you truly want to entertain the idea of staying at home with your baby, I know an excellent, FREE, budget counsellor who can help you look at your income and expenses to see if you can make things work on one income. This is not financial planning. It's real, practical budgeting. It's a ministry of Denton Bible Church. I did have to go back to work after my first child, but we got on track with the budget and by the time my second child was born (they're 2 years apart), we had things in such good order that I was able to quit my job. And I was the main breadwinner in our family -- my husband earns at least $10,000/yr less than I did.
Let me know if you're interested and I'll send you contact info for the "budget lady."

Hey E.!! I wanted to let you know about the in-home daycare that I take my daughter too. I've taken her there since she was 3 months old and just love it. The daycare providers name is Mrs. Shamsi and her number is ###-###-####. She is a certified daycare, located at Keller Springs and Marsh. My daughter is now 9 months old and I wouldn't go anywhere else. I even have Mrs. Shamsi watch her sometimes during the weekends, we love her! Let me know if you have any questions, I don't mind answering any questions, no matter how many! Good luck!

Hi E.,
Mrs.Shamsi has openings in her registered home. She lives at Marsh-Keller Springs in Carrollton. I am a childcare provider also at Frankford/Midway but I don`t expect to have any openings in August. Give Mrs. Shamsi a call ###-###-####. I know she has good references and no major violations (only her records were not up-to date). If you have any questions, my phone number is ###-###-####. Good luck in your search.
