Looking for Daycare for 18 Month Old near Brentwood/Maplewood

My daughter is currently attending the Brentwood YMCA Minier Center, and I love it there. However, I am a teacher and I have to pull her out for the summer and she is going to lose her spot there. I need to find something starting in August. I want to look at home daycares as well as centers. Anyone have any great ones?

Thanks!

Hello T.,

My name is S. T. and I run my own childcare and preschool out of my Kirkwood home. My hours are Mon-Fri 7:30am-5:30pm year round. In the morning hours I teach the children from the Fireflies preschool curriculum, I have an area that is set up into a preschool classroom with learning centers very similar to any big center you might tour, only on a smaller basis. I watch a small group, no more than 4 or 5 children at a time. I charge 28 dollars a day, this includes their preschool curriculum their lunch and a morning and afternoon snack. I have over 17 years experience in the childcare field as well as excellent references and letters of recommendation, many from teachers. If you are interested you may call me at ###-###-#### or email me at ____@____.com and I can email you my parent handbook of policies and procedures.

T.- if you have trouble finding one or have trouble narrowing it down, I'd be glad to help. I am beginning to look for my 1 year old daughter, so I want to research daycare centers and schools anyway. I also want to start a childcare/school referral service, so I need experience and would do it for you for free. However, I'd probably only look into facilities, rather than home-based childcare. Please let me know if you're interested. All I'd ask in return would be for you to fill out a brief evaluation form afterward. By the way, I am an MSW and live in the Shrewsbury/Webster Groves area.

We used to send our daughter to Martha Rounds at Manchester and Brentwood. I believe the name has changed to Elaine Rossi. She attended from 3 months to 2yrs. We had a very good experience with all of the teachers. We only took her out because we had another child and I am staying home now. It is a little pricey, but worth it.

Good luck!

My baby goes to Together We Can in Richmond Heights, and I like it a lot. It is kind of behind the Cheshire on Oakland. The website (still being put together as this is a pretty new center) is togetherwecanstl.com
Hope that helps!

T.,
Hi, I live in Brentwood and just got done searching many places. I also looked at the YMCA, but it was full. Bright Beginnings was a choice of ours. A few teachers take their kids there. We didn't need full time, so that was why we didn't go there. We ended up at Clayton Child Center, which is about double the cost of the Y, full time. We can afford 2x a week, so that's what we're doing, plus babysitters. There was a home care in Kirkwood, Joyful Blessings. But a bit far for us. I'd contact the CDCA if you can. This area is hard to find good home day care, either full or so-so places. There is another home in Webster Groves, Baby steps I think. A house, but the owner/director does not live there. All I can say, is best of luck and e-mail again if you have more questions. It's so hard to do this stuff!! Regards, J.
