My husband and I (and are 8 month old son) are looking for a church home in the Allen area...I grew up Church of Christ...him Methodist...so we are pretty open as far as denomination. I am a stay at home and I just want a good place for both of us as well as a church that our son can grow up in and learn about God and be involved in children's activities....any suggestions on places we should try out?

What can I do next?

I am not familiar with the Allen area, but would recommend you look for a MOPS (Mother's of Preschoolers) group in Allen. It is likely that any church that has an active MOPS group would also be a good church for young families.

If you are interested, First Baptist Church in Allen has a great adult and children's activities starting at age 3. The new preschool and children's building is wonderful. We are starting our new year this Sunday. There is even a new Bible Fellowship Group starting, young couples with children. It is at 9 am. We have BFG classses and a worship service going on at 9 and 10:30. Check out our website. Good Luck! Our church does have a MOPS group.

We love First Methodist McKinney and have been going there for 7 years. Love the pastoral staff and the nursery staff. I have also heard good things about First Methodist Allen.
