I am hosting a holiday cocktail party for approximately 50 guests and would like to get recomendations for catering companies in the area who provide delicious food but also excellent service. Tough combo! We are going to serve heavy passed appetizers and a buffet main course and will also need a bartender, 1 or 2 wait staff and linen/barware (glasses, etc.) rentals. Has anyone out there worked with someplace incredible that they would recommend?
i was at a wedding last week with J Scott. YES! and since i'm a vendor and see what's going on behind the scenes, i can recommend them based on everything i saw that they do or don't do, even when they don't think anyone's watching. professional the whole time.

My name is N. and my mother and I have been bartenders for yrs. I think she may have 20 yrs experience and I have 12. We often do parties on the side and are able to bring the rented bar and glassware if needed. The place that we rent from also has linens and really nice serving platters and all sorts of tables and chairs. I have never dealt with caterers on the mainline but I have ordered food from Wegman's and they have an absolutly fabulous spread. You can prob check it out on line. I am not sure if the caterers you will be looking into will supply bartenders but if you are interested in speaking to my mother or myself we are always available. I can supply references if needed. Try Meredith's in Berwyn. They have a restaurant open for dinner and do brunches on weekends. Have not used their catering, but have always have good experiences at the restaurant.
I can second the endorsements for Feastivities, J Scott, and Meredith's, but you should add Cricket Catering (http://www.cricketcatering.com) to the list of places to get a quote from. I used Cricket most recently of the three, and was very pleased with setup, food, servers (and perhaps most importantly) clean up after the party!

There is a Mom in my neighborhood who all the neighbors use to cater their parties. I have used her as well and her food is "fabulous"! She is very professional and very "beautiful", sweet,easy to work with, talented, helpful and need I say more? You would have to talk to her to have her explain all that she does and all.
