Does anyone know of an OB/GYN in my area that actually treats a patient like a person and not like a UPC number . I would like to find a doctor that actually devotes their full attention to their patients and that cares. So ladies , any of you that just love their doctor please let me know .

I recommend you look into Lone Star OBGYN midwife's office. I really like them because it is a regular doctor's office (the doctors they report to are on a different floor in the same medical building) but because they are midwife's they have more time to spend with you at each visit and are interested in everything that is going on with you, not just what you're there for that day. I also like this particular office because I still delivered in a hospital and had the option of meds just like any other OBGYN. (I thought that having a midwife meant delivering at home with no drugs). Another bonus for me is the fact that everyone I see there is a woman. Hope this helps.

(I hope I'm not repeating here...)
Look up Dr. Charles Holshouser, OB/GYN. He's in the Medical Center. He stayed with my wife for 18 hrs. straight and then did her cescarian very expertly. Good calming bedside manner. I think you'll like him.

I use Dr. Michelle Harden with Seven Oaks Women's Center. She's located in the Medical Center area. Not sure if she's accepting new patients, but there are 7 or 8 doctors in the practice, all of whom come highly recommended -- it's once of the best OB/GYN practices in the city. Their number is ###-###-####. Best of luck, and welcome to San Antonio!

Hi Manuela,
I do not have a referral for you on this topic, but you responded back to my referral about getting together a playgroup for my 4 yr old. Please call me or email me direct, so we can figure out a good time to get together.

I recommend Janice Olsen with the Lonestar Group. They accept several different types of insurance. I absolutely LOVE her and she gives you one on one attention. The number to her office is ###-###-####. She's very gentle and patient. Each appt is not just a walk in, walk out. She actually talks with you and treats every pregnancy different. I guaranty you will be pleased. Try her out and see what you think! She's located in the Medical Center area.
