So What Happened?

Thank you all for the recommendations. I ended up seeing Dr. Javier Fajardo in the 680 N. LSD building. I completely agree with Meghan, he is phenomenal and different. He presents himself very professionally. His office has a warm calming feeling. The exam rooms have spa sound that makes a huge difference, although he interviewed us in his office first. I have seen Ob/Gyn doctors before, but Dr. Fajardo is definitely the best I have had. My husband and I are very happy with his care. He also gave us his email and pager number in case we had any questions/concerns. I will recommend him to everyone I know. His address is: 680 N. Lake Shore Dr, Suite 1202, phone number: ###-###-#### and website: www.forwomen-obgyn.com.

PS: Meghan, thank you so much!

I can not say enough nice things about ALL of the doctors at the Women's Group of Northwestern, especially Dr. Kamel and Dr. Murthy. I was never rushed, I was allowed to ask as many questions as I needed to--it was a great experience having a baby with them!

I go to the Association for Women's Healthcare on Michigan Ave. ( I believe 30 N. Michigan) across from Millenium Park. I see Dr. David Baum and have been with him for 18 years. He delivered one of my two children. There are several women in the practice too. The other Dr. who delivered my other child graduated top of his class. I knew I was in good hands. Dr. Ginsburg does all the ultrasounds and he has developed or been part of the developement for many of the early detections for Down's and others. On the positive that some people think are negatives is that there are many Dr.'s in the practice. I only saw Dr. Baum for check-ups but you could have someone else for delivery but as I said, the positive is that the person on-call is "fresh" and hasn't worked all day and night. I have several friends who go to the same practice, some with Dr. Baum and some with other Dr.'s. ALL love it!

Dr. Gregory Chen at Progressive Care for Women. He is the best. He delivered both of my daughters at Prentice. I had some minor issues with both pregnancies and he never hesitated to spend as much time answering my questions as I needed, even calling me after hours on his way home to chat with me. And he is a pro in the delivery room. He made me feel completely comfortable and eased all my fears during delivery. Call him!

Hi, I see Dr. Timothy Garvey at 680 N Lake Shore Drive suite 810. He's with Northwestern and the best. I have been seeing him for 3 years now. I love him and I have had good experiences with the other doctors in the practice that I have met. Haven't met all of them. During your pregnancy you will usually have appointments with the other doctors too. So that if your particular doctor is not the one delivering you baby, you will have already met the other doctors and be comfortable with them. Although when I delivered I met Dr. Starr for the first time and she was great. So far nothing but good experiences with all of the ones that I have had appointments with. Hope you find one that you like. They have plenty in this practice and midwives too. Good luck!

I also recommend Dr. Friedell (someone else listed his contact info). He takes an amazing amount of time with his patients, and you feel well cared for during a pregnancy (and other times as well)!

J.,

Congratulations!!!!!!!
Dr. Javier Fajardo has a new practice in the 680 N. LSD building. The office is amazing, I felt like I was in a mini-spa. He is amazing. The first time I saw him, he had my husband and I sitting in his office for about 25 minutes to talk about my history, once he was done with questions, he gave me time to ask all I wanted. After "the talking" is when they took me to the exam room. His bedside manners are awesome. If you want an MD that would make you feel comfortable and does not mind you asking a million questions (like I did), I would recommend you Dr. Fajardo. He gave us his email and pager number for any questions we might have. The best part: he will deliver your baby not another random doctor! His office number is ###-###-####.

I go to Dr. Douglas VanArsdale who is great. Unfortunately he was on vacation both times I delivered by children (C-section) and Dr. Patricia Gale did both deliveries. She was great especially since I had not met with her prior to the surgeries. I would highly recommend either of these doctors!
