Looking for an Inexpensive Birthday Party Idea

My grandson's BD is coming up next month and I was wondering if anyone knew of an inexpensive party idea in the Lee's Summit area. We've done CEC and Fun House, now we need a fresh idea for a 6 year old boy. Paradise park is kind of expensive in my mind (even though they have season passes) any new ideas?

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

After viewing all the responses and running out of time we reserved a shelter at Lake Jacomo and combined his and his sisters birthday's. It turned out great, we had family and kids all over the place, then cooked hamburgers and hot dogs (family pitched in for side dishes) We made a cake for each of the kids and they had a blast playing on the playground close and making up their own games.
The only down side was the swarm of bugs that seemed to collect in the middle of the shelter, so next time we'll go out early and de-bug the shelter (you get them for the entire day). The lake was far enough away that it wasn't an issue and they do have port-a-potties (yuck) for those who needed them.
For those of you who don't have houses big enough for everyone this is a great summer party idea. It really works great for a graduation party my daughter did this for her High School and College graduation. The food can be as simple as you want it, it is very laid back and comfortable!

Kidz Kabana is a daycare but they have a moonwalk bouncer inside their gym and they can provide the cake and paper goods if you want or you can do that yourself and rent the gym out. The number is ###-###-####

Dave's Gymnastics is a really great idea in the LS area. I think that it was $100.00... BUT they provide everything. You can pick out a cake from Dairy Queen, they provide all of the paperware, drinks, and serve it all! They even send someone to write down all of the gifts and who they are from. The let the kids play in an obsticle course. Not bad for $100.00! (Paradise Park is REDICULOUS!) Good luck!

There are several public pools in the area that are free Tuesday-Thursday from 4-7. We usually go to Swope Pool right off of 67th St in Swope Park. The pool is only about 3 1/2 foot deep so the younger kids can usually touch the bottom without any problems so you don't need quite as many adults around to suppervise. They also have a section for little ones that has fountains with about an inch of water. It is NEVER crowd and the pool is huge. If the little guy likes to swim, this is a fun place to go.

Roller skating birthday parties are cheap and fun!

We had our daughter's party at the B&D South skating rink on Noland Road.

The manager, "Duffy" was great to work with. I bought a cake at Hy-Vee at 40hiway and Noland and brought it in.

What's great about skating parties is that they appeal to both boys and girls. We had about 1/2 and 1/2 at our daughter's party.

A couple of my friends have done bowling parties. The price is really good and their ages were 4 and 6. The kids loved it. I am not sure if Tunnel Voyage is too young for 6 but I checked into that. They have different packages with different price ranges.
Good Luck
