My husband and I are looking for a culturally diverse church in the Schaumburg area. Since I was raised protestant and he was raised Catholic we were looking for a Lutheran, Methodist or Presbyterian church in the area. I've stumbled across Prince of Peace Lutheran in Hoffman Estates and Our Redeemer Methodist in Schaumburg but have yet to attend a service. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

I belong to Our Saviour's United Methodist church in Schaumburg. We are at the corner of Plum Grove Road and Schaumburg road (east of Roselle road - right next to Random acres). We have many couples from religious backgrounds as yours. Our church devotes much time to missions - we have a group of adults on a mission trip this week in Rosebud, SD. Our youth go for a weeklong mission trip for one week every summer. We have some team members working with an orphanage in Haiti.

In the summer we have one service on Sunday at 9:30am and a 5pm Sat. service. During the school year (usually early to mid Sept.) we meet at 9am and 10:30 am and there is sunday school at both services - for ages 2 - high school.

Come and visit - email me with more questions - we joined this church because with no family in the area - the people were so friendly - we felt like we found another family!

Any House of Worship in the Schaumburg area that you attend will be diverse. Try them all one weekend at a time

I can only speak about Prince of Peace Lutheran Church's preschool. My older daughter went there and now my younger one will too in the fall. I had looked around at many preschools, but felt the most comfortable there. The teachers are so warm and loving. We are also thinking of becoming members as well.

I assume you are talking about the one on Higgins Road, close to Hoffman Estates High School, because I think technically it has a Schaumburg address, if my memory is correct.

Hi S.,
You might find what you're looking for at Southminster Presbyterian Church on Central Rd. in Arlington Hts. A lot of people from different religious backgrounds find a home here. I love the contemporary service, but in the summer we do one blended (traditional and contemporary) service at 9:30. You can learn more from the Web site. http://www.southminsterchurchah.org/index1024.htm
Hope you find just the right place for your family.
