I have a 9 yr old, almost 10, daughter wanting to take art classes, mainly drawing. Wondering if anyone knows of a place that teaches kids?

What can I do next?

Try Hobby Lobby, or The Nelson Atkins Art Museum.

I would also suggest the Nelson or a community education class athough I have seen classes also being offered at JoAnn's fabric stores from time to time.

Hi S.,

I don't know how professional you would like the lessons to be or just for fun, but if you check on the park and rec Magazines they have several lessons to choose from, I used to work as an art teacher and consider some of them very good, also the Nelson Athkins is great but far (at least for me).
I know of a ceramic teacher in the Lenexa area if you are interested.
Hope it helps,

Hi S.!

I am not familiar with too many independent art classes other than those offered a the Nelson and through community education. However, I am a local artist who has begun offering private Art lessons. I'd be glad to talk with you if interested. Just message me and I will respond with my phone number.

Thanks!
