I would love to hear some great girl name suggestions. We already have a name if it's a boy, but are stuck if it is a girl.

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

Well, I just got back from my ultrasound, and we are having another girl! If it had been a boy, we were going to name him Jonas (which I LOVED!). My older girls are Katelyn Sylvia and Audrey Anne. Sylvia is a family name and Anne is because I love the Anne of Green Gables stories, plus my sister in law's middle name is Ann. My husband like Abigail, which I really like also, but am concerned about the popularity of it. There are 5 Abi/Abigails in our preschool already. He also likes Annalise. I am leaning toward Violet Evelyn. Evelyn is another family name. Keep your suggestions coming, though as my hubby and I can not seem to agree just yet! Thanks.

All the names everyone has given you are really cute , i never thought that i would have 2 baby girls having gone through 9 misscarriages and when i found out what they were gonna be i looked for names to show how i felt about them,
my 18 month old is ( mia love) mia in spanish means "my"
in other words i named her "my love"
my 4 month old i named ( precious jennifer), the word precious speaks for it's self, all life is precious.:)

I have an Abigail Rose. She goes by Abby. Fortunately she's the only Abby in her class, but there is a Gabby and Addy! Abigail is indeed becoming quite popular these days!
Anyway, the other girl names I almost went with that I love to this day are Evie, not with a long E but short. I also, like you LOVE the name Violet for a girl! So cute! I also love Edie, with a long E. Let us all know what you decide to go with, girl names are tough cause there are sooo many! I also thought about the name Kelly, which was very popular when I was growing up in the 80's. That is a pretty unique name these days and I've always liked it. Middle names go well with Kelly. Good luck and congrats!!

We considered Hannah, Julia, Sophie, Lily, Sabrina and Audrey (although it looks like you already have that one covered =). We ended up naming our girls Corinne and Isabelle. Congrats on girl #3!

Are you game for sweet names from other languages? I had about 35 on my list that were nixed by my Chinese husband. But he was killing me with names like "Horst" and "Enzo" for a boy anyway. Thank goodness we had a girl! Here are some of my favorites that we didn't use:

Lian means lotus blossom in Chinese

Cai means colorful in Chinese

Hana means blossom in Japanese

Pearlie means small pearl in English (like country English.)

Pera is "pear" in Italian, and Perdita means bee in Latin.

Dolcezza is "honey" or "sweetheart" in Italian

Paloma means dove in Spanish

Lulu is a French derivative of Louise

I LOVE girl names....and btw, your girls' names are lovely. Some of the ones we loved when looking at names were: Gabriella, Arianna, Sophia (hubbie didn't like this one), Jamsine, Annalise (which you already mentioned) and Madeline. We ended up naming our little girl, who is now 4-years-old, Isabella Rose (even though we almost always call her Bella). I love the family name idea; Rose is my maternal grandmoher's name. Happy name hunting....and congrats on your soon-to-be baby #3! :)

Like you we are expecting our 3rd little girl in October and for the life of me I have no clue what we'll name her. We had a boy name picked out. My girls names are Alaina Marie and Malia Ann. Both after their grandma's. I like the names Alea,Melania, malaya, but I won't be able to use them because they are to close to Malia's name. I am so stuck in picking a name this time.We can't seem to agree. I also really like Sarrie or spelled Seri. It means Princess in Hebrew and serene and calm in latin. I am all for those meanings with the 4th baby. I need all the help I can get. I'll be staying away from names that mean wild child and such. I'll be reading all the suggestions you recieve. Good luck , R.

After having my 2 'lil guys, we surprisingly got pregnant and I finally got my lil princess...I have been a preschool teacher for 6 years and only once did I come across the name that I have always wanted for my little girl and was just recently able to use it, Larissa. (Larissa Rose) Best wishes in finding a name for your sweet baby girl and hopefully you let us know the outcome! Good luck C..

Shaylyn
Savannah
Cheyenne
Ashton
Shayne
Shayla
Lorene that's my middle name! :)
I sometimes spell my name Jenapher if you like the name J. at all
Colette
Kjerstie (also could spell it Kierstie, but traditional Scandanavian spelling is with a J because it has a Y sound to it)
Kiera or Kiara
There are also lots of websites for baby names. Just google baby names and look at all the websites that come up! Another suggestion is to look at street names.
Lucky you! We wanted a little girl so badly and the name was easy to choose... took us months to agree on something for the son's name.

Hi C.,
Congrats! I was secretly happy when we found out we were having a girl and am SO in L. with "Mommy's little girl". We had no problem with girl names but could never agree on a boy name. Good thing we had a girl, huh? We named our daughter Paige Renee but I really wanted to name her Faith. Paige was my second fav but hubby didn't like Faith. Other favs were Piper, Alexandria (lots of nicknames) Elizabeth. I have an unusual name, L. Angelina, and have to tell you that I HATED it growing up. I was teased at school, had 2 older brothers who called all kinds of things,(Hate was their fav) and had to deal with people calling my "Lovey" as a nickname. I'm 35 and still have to deal with people saying "What is your name?" Something to think about, how is the name going to age with her? A trendy name is fun, but will she be happy with it when she is a grandma?
Sincerely,
L.

I love girl names. I hope someday to have a girl of my own, so sometimes I daydream over what I would name her if that were to happen :)

The two names that have been on my mind lately are Emily and Annalise. My friend spelled her daughter's middle name Ayva with a y, I thought that was cute.

What are your girl’s names? That helps decide a name a lot. My daughters name is Elizabeth and there are tons of short names for her. I had planned to call her Elle, which is one of my favorites, as well as Ella. Lily is a great name also. I like Joanna, Deanna as well.
Don’t forget to let us know what you decide.

I was just thinking about this last night...There was a little girl on my dtr's t-ball team and her name is Lyric. I just think that is the coolest name! I'm not sure if there is a story behind naming her that...I should've asked.
